Rumors sparked early last week that pop star rapper Nicki Minaj was tapped to join the judges table on the next season of American Idol.  Over the weekend blogs popped up stating that deal fell though naming whatever reasons people felt like coming up with.

Today however Nicki Minaj has actually sealed the deal on becoming a new judge on “American Idol” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Rumors also sparked that Nicki’s deal was canceled due to diva Mariah Carey not wanting to be overshadowed as she attempted to make a comeback in her career.  But with two different styles and two different genres The Trinidad and Tobago native, who pens songs called “Stupid Hoe” will sit just right next to  superstar “Butterfly” Mariah Carey who is well on her way to being at the top of the charts once again. Mariah Carey finalized her $17 Million deal to join “Idol” last month. But producers are counting on the two divas clashing at the judges table.

Minaj and Carey will replace judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Jennifer Lopez broke down in tears quitting in the middle os season 12 because she could not stand to be a apart of dashing the young hopefuls dreams in the singing competition.

Insiders say Minaj has been working out deals for weeks now with the show’s producers and will be cashing in about $8 million to guide the season 12 contestants.

The real issues with Nicki’s contract was because of her sponsorship with Pepsi. American Idol is contracted by Coke but the issues have been resolved, THR claims.

The entertainment column also says that Minaj will receive extra allowances for her wild wardrobe, makeup and hair. Expect to see even more crazy looks from the Young Money Rapper.

Veteran judge Randy Jackson has opted to give up his seat as the fourth judge on season 13. He will however stay on as a mentor.
