This was the article I was waiting to write!  And it’s not because I’m a Big Fan of this show… Because I’m not.  It’s because I’m entertained by the antics that I only caught a glimpse of, during this show’s run this season.  The only reason I popped it on the tube in the first place, is because Atlanta is my second home.  I thought it would be cool to watch as the show progressed… but as with most “Reality Shows” (I use that term loosely) I’ve seen… I couldn’t stomach the Week-to-Week nonsense.

Admittedly I also tuned in to see K. Michelle.  I have been watching her progress over the last two years, before the show aired, and wondered when she was going to Drop an Album.  I dig her Voice, and her Curves… Ha Ha… so I was curious to see if this show was going to be her launching pad.  It launched her… right into an area I didn’t see coming.  (One of the reasons why I stopped watching after Episode 3)

What I didn’t Expect… was that a dude by the name of Stevie J would turn out to be the show’s Breakout Star!  I didn’t follow week to week, but I did keep up with Episode Recaps via AskKissy.com & VH1.com.  That was all I needed to watch… This really is the type of show only women can love.  And yet, I thought this dude was going to Crash & Burn by Episode 5 or something…  Not the case at all!

This guy kept his Mack Game going the entire time!  I want to be clear here, because I don’t want people to think I am calling Stevie J a pimp…  I’m Not!  Pimps have a different perspective as to how they will work a chick, and Stevie J’s way ain’t it.  But he is a Player!  He gets into a chick merely off presentation, and then manipulates her with lies, which is Player behavior… His is just not a Player Style that an OG would execute.  And that’s where I thought he would fail…

I Was Wrong!

The good part about Stevie J’s game is that he is always after the Young & Inexperienced chick that’s been through some challenging times in their lives.  They are basically looking for Father Figures when they run into a cat like Stevie J… who is now an Older (Not Old) cat.  I want to state at this point that I while I don’t admire Stevie J’s tactics or strategies… I by far, Do Not Hate His Game… In fact I applaud it!  How can I applaud it without admiring it?

It’s because he found the right type of chicks to pull his antics on, and it works for him, and them!

Say what you want about Jocelyn Hernandez, but she got the right attitude when it comes to Stevie J… for the most part.  You can tell she loved him… because for all intents and purposes he Saved her from the Strip Club, and elevated her to a different level of game!

For the way she is being treated, she is still in “The Life”, but she is cool with it!  Simply for the sake of The Money!!!  As far as she is concerned, he is coming through on all the promises he made to her, by making her a Household name!  So “Steebie” can do what he wants!  I Think Ice-T said it best when he stated in an Interview that If you are a Hoe… Be a Good Hoe… until you can put yourself in a position to be the Pimp!  She is doing that.

Then you got Mimi Faust… A different woman in character to say the least, but she encompasses the same type of pain of abandonment, along with the seeking of a Father Figure, to help her govern some type of Equilibrium in her life.  You can tell she may have had things rough, but she had someone there to give her some type of Moral Compass, because she has the typical Black Woman’s Relationship Pride Issue that most of my Sistas have today.  And that can Only be taught by another Woman, or Group of Women!

The type of Pride that blinds you into thinking that you should have your relationships One Way, and One Way Only (monogamy)! And that any other way is an insult to your intelligence.  In my world we call that “Square Love”!  There is One Problem with your “Square Love” construct…

You Keep Dealing with Men that Are Not Amenable to it! 

You tell yourselves we are, because you believe our lies, even when you know they are just that.  Yes I am admittedly guilty of exhibiting this behavior… at a much younger age though, and Stevie is a few years older than me… and still on that level!  You can’t tell me Mimi didn’t know who Stevie J was before she decided to be in a relationship with him.

At this point… Who really cares? 

It’s Stevie J’s World now and he is about that Bread!!

(LOL… That’s the funniest shit going right now!!)

This dude has parlayed his philandering into a Second Wind for his career.  And you gotta applaud that!  All that relationship jazz, you can tell he really doesn’t care.  He just wants it his way… And why not?  If he can flip this “Love Triangle” into a Profitable Franchise… he has won on all fronts!  Let’s face it… The women ain’t going anywhere, until they are more famous than he is.  Don’t kid yourself… Mimi is looking to be Famous Too… She did sign on to do the show!

After Mimi’s declaration of moving on… wasn’t she seen at the club with him just last week… being affectionate?  Maybe not the way he wanted… but you don’t react that way with a person when you have moved on… Do You?  And she is not moving on until she benefits from her pain!  But sumthin tells me she had to know all this stuff would come to light about her Man…

I tell you what… I haven’t watched the entire season, so I probably missed certain Key Parts, but I am going to check out Tonight’s Reunion because I need some good laughter in my life!  I think I am informed enough on the show, having watched the First 3 Episodes and the Finale last week.  The Bonus Clips are hilarious too, they moved me through what I missed.

But I gotta be 100 on this… If it weren’t for this Irrelevant, but Popular Topic, I wouldn’t have anything Good for you to read this week, nor would I be able to feed you a plan for dat Bread!
