The past 3 days of Evelyn Lozada‘s life has completely become unreal. In a 72 hour period the reality star has went from happy newly wed to an embarrassed battered wife, the butt of many jokes and a pending divorcee. After getting married just over a month ago on July 4th, Evelyn Lozada has filed for divorce from Chad Johnson after a violent altercation between the couple resulted in Chad Johnson’s arrest over the weekend.
Evelyn Lozada filed legal docs moments ago in Florida, claiming her marriage is “irretrievably broken.”
The trigger for the divorce was the domestic violence incident over the weekend, in whichChad Johnson was arrested after allegedly headbutting her during an argument.
According to the divorce docs, the couple had a prenup — but that won’t be a big deal since the marriage was shorter than Kim Kardashian’s.
The divorce was filed after 41 days of marriage which beats Kim Kardashian’s 72 days of wedded bliss by 31 days..
Since the domestic dispute, which took place Saturday night, August 11, Chad Johnson has been released from the Miami Dolphins and the couples’ upcoming VH1 reality show, Ev & Ocho, has been canceled and Evelyn’s brother-in-law, Anthony Ochoa, who walked her down the aisle at her wedding, passed away last night after a long battle with cancer.
Meanwhile Chad Johnson has issued a statement truly showing off his narcissistic personality.
“I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred. I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies. I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.” (He then unfollowed her on Twitter)

What the heck?? Is this dude seriously only worried about his football career? Ninja phuck yo career… and yo couch.. narcissistic people never truly understand the depth of what they’ve done wrong or to the extent that it’s going to change their life. Chad’s football career is over. I know he’s trying to think positive right now, but what woman wants to watch him play and what good man wants to play with a woman beater?
Behind this incident many in the public are stating that Evelyn brought this on herself and that because of her character on Basketball Wives, which is pretty catty and likes to start fights, that she deserved this. If Evelyn didn’t put her hands on Chad she didn’t bring this upon herself. No woman deserves to be beat or hit just because a man can’t get them to do what he wants.
Secondly as I already reported this is not the first time Chad has become violent with a woman after she accused him of cheating. He did the same thing to one of his girlfriends a while back.
Chad definitely has a problem. Which Evelyn noted in her statement. I’m not really siding with Evelyn. I’m only siding with what’s right.. The only thing Evelyn did wrong was settle for less in an attempt to prove herself in the public’s eye.
She wanted to prove that despite her past she could get a respectable, wealthy man who was in the public eye to marry her. But the thing is despite the things Chad did in his pursuit of Evelyn, mainly buying her things and taking her nice places. He never really showed Evelyn that he adored her. It was obvious from the get go. When they first met Ocho told Evelyn that she was okay and that he could make her much better. At the stage of their engagement his affection for Ev hadn’t changed much.
They had the most unromantic engagement I’ve ever heard of.
“My proposal, it really wasn’t that romantic. He told me that the jeweler was coming to the house so I thought he was going to buy watches. Jason from Beverly Hills gets to the house. He pulls out some rings. Chad has his headset on because he likes playing Call Of Duty, FIFA, all of that stuff. He was like, ‘Which one do you like?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know. This one.’ I picked that one. Put it on. He goes, ‘Alright, so we’re engaged.”
When they were kids who ever thought that “little Mija” would grow up to be the most popular reality star and little Chad would someday grow up to be a woman beater.
Evelyn was nothing more than a trophy to Ocho. And he attempted to treat her as such.. and lost.
People always want to say this and that about love, but when a man adores you and he finally finds that woman for him he is going to get his butt down on bended knee and show that woman just how much he loves her.. How does a person as flamboyant as he is even pose to a woman so simplistically??
Perhaps when Eve came up with her season four quotable “You Ain’t About This Life”, that it really wasn’t a gimmick. Perhaps Jennifer wasn’t with that trying to pretend to have a perfect life at all costs. Perhaps Jenn has already understood that you really do have to pay the cost to be the boss.
Sadly as women, most of us want that fairytale wedding with the fairy tale prince that comes with it but that’s one thing you can’t fake it till you make it.. Either it’s real love or it’s not.

Good article.. I think I am mad at Chad for even putting himself in this position.. How you going to attempt to wife someone and their only claim to fame is acting like a fool…cursing, yelling, fighting and throwing stuff at people.. and he expected this relationship not to be explosive. I am sad that he didnt have enough sense to weigh the consequences of trying to wife someone like this.. there were huge red flags for both and he had the most to lose.. and he will lose. But I believe he will eventually land another job in the NFL. He will probably sit out a season but someone will pick him up..
