What we thought started out as a joke is now a full-fledged sporting event with tickets on sale.  

After Drake and Chris Brown allegedly got into a fight in a New York night club over Rihanna, tickling rumors started to swirl about Drake and Breezy boxing it out in the ring together. Last  week those rumors were smashed when the boxing promoter who desperately wanted the fight to happen appeared to settle for some look-a-likes.

But we are living in some crazy times when things that seem like they just can’t be real are proved to be true. Or maybe we’ve been transported to planet Mars and don’t know it because we’re in a bubble. Cause there is no way on earth that Drake & Chris would actually fight in a boxing match right???

Somehow the promoter finally convinced both Drake and Chris Brown that an actual fight between the two would be good for charity. And the butt of the joke that really isn’t a joke is that Tony Parker who had to get surgery on his eye after glass shard from the broken glass in the fight cut his eye, is set to referee the fight… (yeah… let that marinate) According to the press release the fight of the decade will happen September 22 in Las Vegas.  

The specifics are below.

“After several offers, both hip hop Stars Drake and Chris Brown have just came to an agreement to duke it out in the ring for charity as both men have accepted the five million dollar purse from Celebrity Boxing promoter Damon Feldman and the boxing match which will be 3 one-minute rounds with 24 OZ Boxing Gloves will be the Grudge match from their Nightclub Brawl that injured several people including NBA star and the man who has agreed to referee the match Tony Parker who will be the third man in the ring. There will be several other matches involved here with the charity [and] awareness [for] Hands Up Guns Down 1on1boxing.com will benefit and raise awareness to keep the violence off the streets. Both stars will wear headgear also.

Brown’s rep Frankie Moreno says this is going to be a great event for charity, as well as Drake’s rep Tony Davis says it will be a battle and Drake will end it in two rounds. Both Brown and Drake have signed the contract through their reps and this will be the Celeb Fight of the Century, [said Feldman].”

I’m just going to assume they could not get Rihanna to judge or mark score cards.

I used to hate things that were a hot mess.  But now thanks to Love & Hip Hop I love me some hot messiness.. And I’ll definitely be at that 3 minute fight acting like it’s Mayweather vs. Mike Tyson…
