Others seem to appreciate people with a little spunk who dance to their own beat.
Edgy pop star Pink (real name Alecia Moore) just landed herself a contract with the make-up giant CoverGirl. The cosmetics company announced the pink haired singer as the new face of CoverGirl.
The decision to take on the unlikely (but gorgeous!) singer was due to her sense of spunk and individuality.
“Pink is a powerful and provocative role model,” CoverGirl’s vice president and general manager Esi Eggleston Bracey told People. “We love the energy and confidence that she radiates.”
Pink’s first campaign, to début in the fall, will be for a bold new mascara, which will showcase Pink wearing fun looks for eyes, lips, and more. The ad is absolutely beautiful.
I don’t know if she still does but Pink used to give people the finger in a New York minute.
Last year Nivea sponsored Rihanna’s “Loud” tour and was nothing less than ecstatic to announce Ri-Ri as the new face of their company. Seeing as to how Rihanna is a very gorgeous woman with smooth, beautiful skin and millions of fans worldwide the company thought the singer was a perfect fit to help usher in the younger crowd as an ambassador for the brand.
While Rihanna kept up her beautiful skin and appearance, she publicly did many things that a “wholesome” brand may look down upon.. Nivea’s new head honcho Stefan Heidenreich frankly isn’t the biggest fan of Rihanna because she doesn’t keep a clean commercial image. He fired the singing beauty stating that she was a no go.
“Rihanna is a no go. I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.
I’m absolutely positive that she does not give two phucks of a phuck. Rihanna makes so much money that she can truly do whatever she wants to do. She does not necessarily need to keep a wholesome image.. Upon reading her timeline Rihanna posted a headshot of Heidenreich on her Twitter with the caption, “No caption necessary.”

In a society where perception is reality it’s very important to keep a clean image when you have corporate sponsors. But people who keep a clean image generally want to scream out of frustration most times of being unable to be who they truly are.
Bad girl Ri-Ri may be unruly at times. She’s not quiet like her label mate Beyonce, nor does she ever try to pretend to be.. She’s stated several times that she is not looking to be nor does she want to be anyone’s role model. Matter of fact she stated that BEFORE Nivea decided to sign her. When Ri first went bad girl on us we figured she was only acting out due to the painful and embarrassing conclusion of her relationship with Chris Brown.. That may have been the start of it, but Ms. Fenty truly relished in doing what she wants to do..
At times Rihanna lives like she isn’t one of the top 5 followed people on the worlds largest social networks. Rihanna who is one of the few pop stars in total control of her Twitter account will go off on people and she often times tweets raunchy lyrics from various Drake songs. And don’t call yourself dissing her. She just might clapback.
At this point Ri is only 24 years old. Remember how immature your were or how much fun you had at that age? Maybe you didn’t take pictures drinking beer or smoking weed on vacay in Hawaii, like Rihanna does. But you got to live your life the way you wanted to, without caring what others thought. I say cheers to Rihanna for doing her. She’s living life. There’s plenty of time to calm down when she’s ready.
She’s hasn’t been that beautiful teenage girl with the Umbrella in a very long time. Perhaps it’s time for people to stop waiting..
