Lil Wayne Quitting Rap To Focus on Skateboarding

“I’m about to be 30 in September and I’m still rappin’. So I kinda feel like I’m gettin’ old.”

It has been Wayne ’s World for a while now in hip hop. He has been dropping hits since a young teen, during his time with the group Hot Boys. Now being in the game for over a decade, being a baby father to many, Lil Wayne is tired of it all . He has been on every feature for every artists possible, he has dropped countless of hits with his own albums. During that time he has impregnated several women. Yes, Wayne has been a very busy man.

He feels it’s time for him to relax and take a break from it all…

On Wednesday Lil Wayne had a radio interview with DJ Drama, where he broke the news about him taking a break from rap he quoted –

“It’s kinda putting rap on the back burner, that’s all. Rap’s taking a backseat to skating, that’s all,” Wayne told DJ Drama when he phoned into his radio show on Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 on Wednesday.

“I kinda feel like I deserve that, I feel like the fans deserve a little No Wayne. I’ve been everywhere, man. I’ve been out on everybody’s song, I’m still on everybody’s song,” Tunechi continued. “My artists are doing awesome; I believe the fans deserve some peace from me, so I’ll be on my skateboard in the meantime.”

“Yeah, it does get pretty boring when it comes to the rapping and that kinda stuff. I’ve done so much of it,” he said. “I’ve been doin’ it since I was 8. I’m about to be 30 in September and I’m still rappin’. So I kinda feel like I’m gettin’ old.”

Since rap has gotten so boring for Lil Wayne, he has decided to focus on something that currently has his attentions . He has discovered a new passion for the art of skateboarding. Wayne has been practicing the sport for years now, even getting injuries and broken bones , while boarding. He explains his love for the board.

“What happened was I picked up the skateboard and it started being a hobby and what happened is it’s a lifestyle,” he said. “You have to be fully committed because it’s super-scary, and in order to be fully committed, you have to live that lifestyle.”
