Has Drake’s obsession with Aaliyah gone too far ?? Has anyone told Drake that he could have NEVER hit that?? Just a thought ….

Drake has made no secret of his obsession with the deceased singer Aaliyah, who died at the tender age of 22 in a plane crash.

Drake has a dedication to Aaliyah on all his albums (well he only has two, and some mixtapes on his credits, but still ). He first sampled her song “At Your Best” on his song Unforgettable. His first full LP , “Thank Me Later” mentioned her name throughout the albums content .  On his latest LP, the well received, critically acclaimed “Take Care” he goes on to mention Aaliyah again with lyrics like

  “Since I saw Aaliyah Life Go to Soon, she deserves the credit for how I’m about to get it”

Think that’s enough?? Well think again. Reports broke earlier  this week about  Drake being an executive producer on Aaliyah’s posthumous album. Drake is reportedly debuting a new song with himself featuring  some of Aaliyah’s prerecorded vocals at the OVO Festival, taking place this Sunday at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, Canada.

Drake had some more dedication up his sleeves to really show how much he loves Aaliyah. (He’s all about showing it’s real.) With an Aaliyah face tattoo already on his back he decided to dedicate  more ink space on his body for the love of her.  He  recently got another tat to pay homeage to  his hometown of Toronto as well as Aaliyah. The tattoo can be read in two different ways   “416″ which is the area code for Toronto and “116″ which represents  Jan. 16 for Aaliyah’s birthday, very interesting and unique .

True, Aaliyah may no longer be here, but Drake will make damn sure we won’t forget her, which is a good thing  … The only thing Drake has left to do is spend money on an Aaliyah hologram and take it on tour with him.  I’m sure it will be a hit.

Am I the only one that thought the fan who tattooed Drake’s name across her forehead, resembles Aaliyah  ??
