Farrah Gray Publishing is suing reality star Antonia “Toya” Wright  for $1 Million claiming Toya failed to properly promote her book “Priceless Inspirations.” The company accuses Toya of

“…direct, contributory and vicarious inducement of copyright infringement, unfair competition and breach of contract.”

In addition, the lawsuit to be filed at the U.S. Federal Court in the Northern District of Georgia by Gray also  claims copies of Priceless Inspirations were privately sold without their knowledge or consent.

Toya’s rep’s released a statement in her defense claiming Toya more then fulfilled her contractual obligations to the publishing company.

“Mrs. Wright consistently went above and beyond her contractual obligations which included: Self- funding a college tour promoting Priceless Inspirations, Cross promotion of her Ampro endorsement by placing the book cover on Ampro products nationwide and allowing Farrah Gray Publishing the platform to promote her book on her highly successful reality show on Black Entertainment Television.”

Toya’s fans took to Twitter to defend her and bear witness to her efforts to promote her debut literary work. (Like they would know) SMH..

Toya herself took to Twitter in her usual fashion:

Obviously Toya had dreams of being a New York Times Best seller  which is why she wanted a publishing deal. AS you have to be nationally distributed to get on the list, which is something only a publishing company can do.

Farrah Gray

Even further Farrah Gray Publishing is distributed by HCI which publishes “Chicken Soup For The Soul” a New York Times Best Seller.  #imjustsaying

Toya may be going a bit of a stretch in her attempt to  make it seem like she put Farrah’s company on the map when Farrah himself is a world renowned author who has sold books world wide in 12 different languages including his most popular book “Reallionaire” in addition to being featured on several popular talk shows including the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Gray publishing who is the company behind Don Lemon’s “Transparent” also had problems with  Ky-Mani Marley whose book “Dear Dad: Where’s The Family In Our Family, Today?” upset his family because Ky-mani told too many family secrets. The Marley family threatened to cut off his inheritance if he didn’t go back and edit the book.  Which Farrah Gray Publishing allowed him to do, even after he attempted to bad mouth Farrah and distance himself from the book.. Marley eventually apologized and the lawsuit was dismissed.

Rhonda Frost  and Shanae Hall authors of  “Why Do I Have To Think Like A Man” also filed suit against Gray Publishing but had the lawsuit dismissed as frivolous.

There is a lot of work that goes into book publishing and people don’t quite do what they are supposed to. So the story isn’t always as simple as it appears to be.  Often times people fail to read the fine print on their contracts.

Toya ended her Twitter assault saying she was about to write another book.

Obviously she’s going to have to find another publisher for her 2nd book.  What Toya fails to tweet is that every single publishing company in the U.S. turned her down for a book deal because no one outside of the BET audience and the Blogosphere knew who she was.  Farrah Gray Publishing was the only company to give Toya the opportunity to make a title for herself outside of being Lil Wayne’s baby mama.

Toya also forgot to mention that she may have to seek a new writer for her 2nd book.  It’s kind of confusing how a person can work on writing a 2nd book before they even write a 1st book. #DOWORK???

I mean anyone who has watched her show is familiar with Toya’s speaking skills.   Did she even write the book? I don’t think so..  I mean the girl can’t even spell her own publisher’s name right…  #wheretheydothatat

This is definitely going to get interesting.

It’s sad that in this day and age —people still take jabs @ each other over B.S. There’s enough money out here that everyone can benefit from and make without the cattiness and hate. Unfortunately, when it comes to K. michelle and Memphitz–those two are the only one’s who really know what happend, deatil by detail. Tamar, should stay out of it and concentrate on putting her album together that no one’s checking for. And although I know Toya wants to support her man, she must realize that that’s a fight that she must remove herself from because it happen before her and she really can’t say that it won’t happend with her. And they all should know that you can’t build your happiness off of someone elses misery. That goes out to all involved.
