On July 4th, 2012 Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson married his real reality sweetheart Evelyn Lozada in a private lavish ceremony held on a private island within the St. Martin’s. The couple originally wanted to wed in Miami but due to the violence on the show none of the top Miami Hotels would accept their wedding party reservations.
The show was filmed for the couple’s upcoming fall reality show, an 8 part series called The Ev & Ocho Show.
The reality star and Miami Dolphins player tied the knot in a private ceremony amongst 150 of their closest family and friends at the Le Chateau des Palmiers beachfront resort in St. Martin.
Although her once bestie Jennifer Williams was not invited, fellow Basketball Wives castemates Suzie Ketchum and the person responsible for putting Ev on the map Shaunie O’Neal were both in attendance.
Shaunie told VH1:
“I don’t want to speak for anybody. Tami was invited, but I don’t know. It was far… St. Martin is a trek.” (Was she sidewayz saying Tami couldn’t afford the flight?)
But just like her ex bestie Jennifer had at her own wedding, Evelyn’s wedding was complete with a fireworks show.
Evelyn tweeted some pictures of her wedding day, including of her dress and the newly wed couple walking down the aisle. “Kisses babe,” she wrote while sharing the pictures.
Ev was quite the beauty as she walked down the aisle. The new Mrs. Johnson changed outfits three times during the course of the evening. Her wedding dress was a simple white mermaid cut, cleavage showcasing gown made by Ines Di Santo. The second a Di Santa Mini dress and the thired a Jason Sky designed catsuit. (that’s different) In addition, she wore a beautiful veil that had greatly detailed-head piece, which definitely ended up being a conversation piece.
Evelyn’s husband-to-be was one of the finest grooms ever according to Shaunie Oneal. She was so impressed with Chad’s wardrobe selection for the wedding. She told VH1:
‘When he came down [the aisle], that boy was sharp! I’ve been talking about his outfit ever since I left. He look so good!’
Ocho donned a beautiful, perfectly designed Astor & Black Tuxedo with a black bow tie and a sparkling pair of gold studded Christian Louboutin slippers.

It’s a victorious tale for Evelyn Lozada who came onto the basketball wives show filled with women who never been married. Because of the show Evelyn found herself a new wealthy athlete to spend the rest of her life with. She may never be a basketball wife. But Evelyn Lozada is now Mrs. Evelyn Lozada Johnson, the newest Football Wife. And boy is she a beautiful addition to the bunch.
