Nia Long became a trending topic over the weekend when Essence Magazine hit the stands featuring Long along with her two sons but sans baby daddy Ime Udoka.    Inside Nia revealed that she often goes online while enjoying time with her family only to find people are speaking badly about her decision to keep having kids out of wedlock.

But the 41-year-old actress says she’s not interested in getting married anytime soon.. In her circle she has never seen a marriage actually work.

The actress, who welcomed her son Kez Sunday with partner Ime Udoka last year, told Essence that she has “never seen a marriage work”.

Long, who also has a 10-year old son called Massai from a previous relationship, went on to say: “Marriage is not a priority for me.

“I’m not saying I’ll never do it; it’s just not where we are as a family.”

However, Long admitted that she has been criticized for her decision not to wed, saying: “I’ll be at home with my man, having a perfectly loving time, and I’ll see all these comments on some site about how wrong I am for not being married. I don’t feel less loved or loving because I’m not married.”

Long also revealed that she is now pleased with her relationship with Massai’s father, explaining that they have had “the most challenging times” in the past.

“But we’ve arrived at a place where I can truly say he’s not a baby daddy, he’s my friend, finally,” she said. “He is an amazing father.”
