It seems the industry is out to get a lil girl who once had big dreams of being a rapper and went on to become the most popular female rapper in history.

Over the  weekend,  Funk Master Flex issued a statement:

We don’t f-ck with commercial rappers anymore. If you lost the streets it’s your fault! I’m dedicated to tearing you down‘

It didn’t stop there.  Right before Nicki Minaj was supposed to hit the stage  yesterday for Hot 97.5′s summer jam concert the stations morning show host Peter Rosenberg took to the stage to hype the crowd up and diss Nicki Minaj in the process.

He Said:

“I see the real Hip-Hop heads sprinkled in here. I see them. I know there are some chicks here waiting to sing ‘Starships’ later, I’m not talking to y’all right now. F-ck that bullsh-t. I’m here to talk about real Hip-Hop sh-t. People here to see A$AP Rocky today. People here to see ScHoolboy Q on this stage. That’s the sh-t I represent.”

Meanwhile Nicki  hadn’t quite gotten ear of the diss and was busy promoting the performance.

She Tweeted:

“History will be made @ Hot97 Summer Jam tonight. I really hope you’re there to witness it.”

Rumors were already flying that Minaj would be bringing Lil Kim’s previous nemisis Foxy Brown to the stage with her.

Lil Wayne got word of the diss first and called Nicki’s performance off.

He Tweeted:

“YoungMoney ain’t doing summer jam.”

Nicki Then Tweeted;

“Wow. U ni–az just f-cked up history. But the President has spoken. #YMCMB. Had a HELL of a f-cking lineup. But we won’t b disrespected. I go above and beyond for my fans. But won’t ever go against wayne’s word. What he says goes.”

Minaj’s boo thang Scaff Beezy didn’t take to kindly to Rosenberg slighting his woman..

He Tweeted:

YOOO PETER ROSENBURG WHEN I COME TO SUMMA JAM YOU GETTING PUNCHED IN YA F–KING FACE U F–KING P–SY!!!!!!! I PROMISE U N—A!!!!!

Apparently Tyga and Busta Rhymes who definitely needed the exposure didn’t get the message, cause they both went on to perform anyway, although Nicki did not, instead she hung out with Foxy.

To add more fire to the flames, Lil Kim gladly tossed a few lines in. As she was glad that someone of importance was finally on her side..

Kim Tweeted:

“Hot damn ho here we go again. Monkey see monkey do. I heard the haters are joining forces against the Queen. LMAO !!!! Have a great show!!! Break a leg!!!! Hahahaha!!!! My love for the female hip hop movement has always been genuine. All the females I’ve been bringing out recently I have love for. If u see anybody else doing it … Its not genuine …Know it’s only to copy and compete with me …….. For those of u who have been brainwashed by the fraud …Let’s open our eyes now people …the clone is not bringing ladies out for the luv. It’s strictly because I’m doing it !  Love u Team Kim and all my fans across the world ..they’ll believe one day very soon !!”

Later in the show Funkmaster Flex took the opportunity to reiterate that he would be making an attempt to tear Nicki down in hopes of decreasing her already low records sales..

This is absolutely ridiculous..  Nicki is wrong for not admitting that she stole her whole style and swag from Kim, but Nicki’s lyrics are still of her own. Regardless of what so called Old school hip hop heads may think Nicki has achieved great success which is unparalleled by any other female rapper.. It’s not Nicki’s fault the Kim was unable to achieve the mainstream and cross-over success at the same height of Minaj.

Regardless of the situation Nicki Minaj was once a lil black girl who had a dream.. Unlike the millions of others who wanted to become a rapper Nicki made it.. Not only did she make it but she made sure that she expanded her brand.. No one is going to like everything a person does..  Nicki may have sold out in their eyes but she belongs to the people. Without the fans and the people who support her there is no Nicki..

Obviously Nicki has plenty of fans (millions) who support her choices in music.. The people have spoken.. It’s not so much up to the dj’s to decide who is going to be hot and not so hot anymore..  This is childish on both Rosenberg and Flex’s behalf.

When did it become so cool to tear down a black woman? Oh I forgot, it’s always been cool in the rap community to degrade it’s black women..
