Rapper 2 Chainz though his dedication and hard work has cultivated a piping hot career and established himself as one of the hottest MC’s in the game. The “Spend It” rapper has also kept himself out  the usual legal situations that seem to permeate with many in the rap community.

But then that changed this morning. According to TMZ 2 Chainz was arrested In New York.

Kanye West’s rap prodigy 2 Chainz was arrested at LaGuardia Airport in New York today … after cops say he was packin’ brass knuckles in his carry-on bag …

2 Chainz — real name Tauheed Epps (who also goes by the name Tity Boi) — was entering the Delta terminal to fly to a show in North Carolina … when the TSA discovered brass knuckles in his bag. Law enforcement tells TMZ … police were called to the scene … and 2 Chainz was taken into custody for misdemeanor possession of a criminal weapon at 1:45 local time.   2 Chainz — famous for his hit song “Spend It” — is still in police custody.

A rep for 2 Chainz tells us … his team is “handling the situation.”2:27 PM PT — Sources close to 2 Chainz insist … the “brass knuckles” in question were actually just a harmless 4-fingered ring.

Is 2 Chainz signed to GOOD Music?? I wasn’t aware of that.

2 Chainz called into MTV News earlier to complain that the NYPD had tried to assassinate his swag with his arrest yesterday for allegedly having brass knuckles at the airport. He said,

“They tried to assassinate my character, they tried to assassinate my swag.  It was just a negative dilemma earlier where someone misconstrued a piece of jewelry for a weapon and stuff.  Me just trying to explain it was getting too frustrating, me just trying to explain my occupation and then when they finally got to the jail and everybody knew who I was, then they started calling their kids and putting me on the phone with their kids. It was like a weird experience.”

On top of that……they kept the ring!  He added, ”Yeah, they took it from me. They took the Louis [Vuitton] case that I actually keep the jewelry in, they took that. I couldn’t believe it.”

He also Tweeted:

 ”Sorry to alll the negative people who wanted me out the way…kant let u have the game bak that ez….And oh yeh they took my Louis V. traveling case… Smh! Petty I got that from Saudi Arabia…Materials kan b replaced!2blessed2stress. A RING THOUGH!!!”
