Doctors in Brazil accidentally tore the head off of a baby they were struggling to deliver during child birth .
The incident occurred when the child became stuck as the mother was struggling to give birth at the Santa Isabel maternity hospital in Aracaju, Brazil.
The headless body of the baby boy remained inside the mother until it was removed by Caesarian.
A total of five doctors spent hours trying to deliver the baby in the early hours on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old mother of three, explained to family members she knew something was terribly wrong when she heard something ‘crack’. The mother asked the doctors what was going on and no one anwsered her.
Gilmara Azevedo dos Santos, the cousin of the mother told reporters,
“She went through a lot of suffering, it was hours and hours and a lot of pain and discomfort, with doctors pushing on her stomach, trying everything to make the baby come out.” At one point, she heard a loud noise and one of the doctors said, ‘Marcos, are you crazy?”
‘My cousin is totally devastated, the whole family is in shock. She is still in so much pain, as after the head had been pulled off they tried to get the body out by cutting her. In the end they had to open up her body to take out her son’s dead body.’ Ms Santos added.
Debora Leite, The hospital’s clinic director responsed to the mishap, stating a committee of professionals had been set up to investigate the baby’s death.
The family has confirmed they intend to sue the Santa Isabel maternity hospital for medical negligence.

I know a doctor once broke a baby"s neck during delivery. He got sued down to his drawers.

This is sad most of the time docs in other countries are careless from the get go before her pushing they suppose to check to make sure she can give birth vaginally , or this could of been avoided & they could did a C-Section. Even they could of stop pulling & used they brains & cut her open & pulled the baby back up. I've in hospital if a women start pushing & have issues the docs always be prepared & do an emergency C -section, that's one you not suppose to do is keep pulling if u can get results. My prayers go out to her & her family & may god rest your baby soul

See I do back ground checks on my doctors & I check there history with other patiences. I'm about to give birth as well but i go to different hospital's make sure everything is cool , no one perfect but to behonest what I've learned in medical school no one should have negligence in the medical field & if u don't no much consult with someone that do , most of the time that's why patiences die because the mis diagnose or they don't no what there doing , Everytime I'm at the doc I always ask ? Or ask what type of medicine they give me , is it safe now & days basically you just have to do your homework & make sure your doc knows what he /she is doing.

That's malpractice not an accident. They all should go to prison for murder. The C-Section should have been done immediately. She probably won't even dilated 10, just 5. They need to be shot.
wow that is truly devastating and my heart goes out to the family like seriously wtf was the doctors doing if the baby was stuck in the birth canal or whatever they should have just did a c-section… Dumb asses her baby could have still been alive at this point you have to think did the doctors actually think this on thru.
the baby would have died anyways if they had to switch to a c-section during the breach. however, it would have been less traumatic than having your baby's head ripped off during child birth. that is, if this story has not been ridiculously exaggerated. they probably just snapped the baby's neck or maybe the baby was dead already if the cervix was that tight.

Dis is what happens wen you award just anybody a degree & license to practice. A real doctor would schedule her a c-section from day 1! My heart really goes out to dis mother & father! Where dis could have been prevented.

Wow, those are some real stupid doctors. It is now wonder they sent the little boy home with his parents saying he was dead. Obviously, he was not dead when he sat up in the coffin. Sounds like this country has very poor doctors.
I know that is right, somebody better sue the socks off of those mutherfu! 2#$%! WTF man? I have never heard of any shit like this before.
