“Free at last, Free at last, Thank God almighty we are free at last.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin had a dream, he had a vision, he had a cause that he dedicated his life to for the benefit of himself and so many others, but what if he didn’t? What if he just woke up, went to work, came home and lived a normal dreamless life? Many things might’ve never changed but thanks to him and many others we’ll never know for sure. People have sacrificed their lives for us to have a dream, a BIG dream, and for us to chase them into reality. Blood, sweat, tears, and lives were lost just for us to get that opportunity. So what made it acceptable for us to stop dreaming? Stop chasing? Stop achieving all that we possibly can?
We’ve become a complacent society, we’ve forgotten our ancestors struggles. So day after day we don’t dream, we don’t chase, we just exist. All living organisms breath so what separates you from a flower in a field? Whatever your dream is what made it ok to settle for less? Maybe you want to travel the world, open a restaurant, sing, whatever it is why did you stop chasing it? I don’t think anyone’s dream was to just work a 9-5, come home raise a family and play it safe but so many people seem to settle for it. There’s nothing wrong with that life at all, but you can do that and still chase your dreams. What does it teach your kids when you play it safe and then tell them they can be the next President? Children hear what you say, but watch what you do…
So if Malcolm, Martin and so many others that fought for your freedom played it safe I guess that’d be cool too. Acceptable, we may still be in the fields picking cotton getting whipped our women getting raped by the “master”. I bet you’d have a dream then, working in that hot field all day in inhumane conditions but now that we have luxuries once only dreamt of many of our ambitions and dreams have disappeared into thin air. I really wonder what our ancestors would think about how we live today. The fact that many of us not only just exist but also try and kill the dreamers dreams with negative talk and unsupportive ways in the process.
How many non dreamers don’t even have the strength or the love to support the dreams of the ones that still chase, still seek. Many times it seems like people just wait for you to fail at your dreams just so they’re more comfortable just existing, playing it safe.
I just thank God for the people that came before us that had a dream & those among us that still do and chase it no matter the results…
So if you have a dream POST IT! let’s ENCOURAGE & SUPPORT one another. If you don’t have one ENCOURAGE those that do, while you rediscover your own...

Martin Luther King did not give his life up so that you could be happy working at McDonald's.
I Have A Dream Too That I'm Still Working On…
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Opened he door for people to walk through, but everyone want to ride through the door on someone else's back.
I too have a dream and I will make this happen as long I breath.
