George Zimmerman isn’t thinking about the life that he took, but he is thinking about how he’s going to live. Zimmerman needs money for living expenses and legal defense, this according to a website launched by Zimmerman himself.
Therealgeorgezimmerman.com was reportedly launched by Zimmerman for his supporters. A letter written by Zimmerman himself is the first thing on the homepage, and it explains how the 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain has been living after the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
The site was built for his supporters to give him money, as he has not been able to work or sustain adequate income.
Zimmerman refers to the shooting death of Trayvon as an “Incident.” The rest of the site is filled with quotes from American heroes such as Thomas Payne, Edmund Burke and James W. Loewen.
Here’s Zimmerman’s letter:
I am the real George Zimmerman,
On Sunday February 26th, I was involved in a life altering event which led me to become the subject of intense media coverage.
As a result of the incident and subsequent media coverage, I have been forced to leave my home, my school, my employer, my family and ultimately, my entire life. This website’s sole purpose is to ensure my supporters they are receiving my full attention without any intermediaries.
It has come to my attention that some persons and/or entities have been collecting funds, thinly veiled as my “Defense Fund” or “Legal Fund”.
I cannot attest to the validity of these other websites as I have not received any funds collected, intended to support my family and I through this trying, tragic time.
I have created a Paypal account solely linked on this website as I would like to provide an avenue to thank my supporters personally and ensure that any funds provided are used only for living expenses and legal defense, in lieu of my forced inability to maintain employment.
I will also personally, maintain accountability of all funds received. I reassure you, every donation is appreciated.
A grand jury was supposed to be called today to decide whether to arrest Zimmerman or not. That has been called off.. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
ACCORDING TO THE WEEKLY:
Why was the prosecutor allowed to skip the grand jury?
Only in the instance of first-degree murder cases does Florida law require that a grand jury decide whether charges should be filed. Corey has a reputation for avoiding grand juries unless she must convene one, and Martin’s shooting doesn’t qualify as a first-degree murder since it apparently wasn’t premeditated. The law simply doesn’t require a grand jury.
Is Zimmerman less likely to be charged now?
Many analysts believe Zimmerman is now more likely to be charged. Corey “may have feared that a grand jury would have refused to indict based on the evidence,” says Doug Mataconis at Outside the Beltway, “which would have been politically troublesome to say the least.” Indeed, I bet “she thinks she has enough evidence to bring charges without a grand jury indictment,”says Pat Cunningham at the Rockford Register Star. “Don’t be surprised if charges are brought before the end of the week.”
I just want to know when Zimmerman will be arrested.
