MIAMI, FL - Renette argued with her son after he came home late. She would be awoken later that night in a chokehold by her son, Kit.
Renette was a hardworking mother who was going to nursing school and worked as a security guard at their Jade Winds apartment Complex.
On March 27, 2012, 36-year-old Renette Emile was upset with her 16-year-old son Kit Darrant for coming in the house late once again.. A heated argument ensued before the mother and son retreated to their separate rooms to go to bed. What happens next is unimaginable..
In his confession to police, the Dr. Krop Senior High student said that after he and his mom argued, he went back to his bedroom and deliberated on how to kill her.
While his 3-year-old brother slept soundly in the next room, Darrant went into his mother’s bedroom and put her into a chokehold in an attempt to strangle her.
When he realized she was unconscious but still breathing, he got a large butcher knife from the kitchen and stabbed his mother in the back of the neck.
As she was still alive, Darrant told police he then turned her over and stabbed her numerous times in the torso and arms, leaving her for dead after stabbing her 14 times.
He then cleaned the knife, took off his bloodied clothes and showered to clean up any blood spatter. After strangling his mother and stabbing her to death, Darrant then went to sleep.
The next morning, according to police, he did his best to clean the room by wrapping the bloody body in bed sheets. To combat the decomposition smell, Darrant told police he sprinkled laundry detergent and deodorant on his mother’s dead body.
In the days following the murder, neighbors and security guards saw Darrant driving his mother’s car at strange hours, having lots of friends over, and playing loud music,reports the Miami Herald, but no one intervened.
Darrant threw a wild party and even sold electronics that were in the home for dirt cheap. Family members called for nine days and Darrant would tell them that his mother was not home or that she couldn’t come to the phone.. The moms boyfriend really became worried and finally asked his sister to go over and check on her. Emile’s sister-in-law went to the apartment and the found the body.
“I saw it was a person laying on the floor and covered up with some sheets and it smelled really bad,” Marie Altidor told Local10. “I knew that was her.”
Darrant, who lived with his mother’s dead body for eight days, is charged with second-degree murder.
CBS Miami reports that he is being held in “secure detention” for 21 days until a hearing on April 26.
For months she had been struggling with her teen sons behavior and even sent him to bootcamp. Police were called earlier in the year for a domestic disturbance at the house. The news of the murder came as a shock to Krop Sr. High School students, which is the same school that the deceased Trayvon Martin attended…By all accounts Kit was a very active, popular kid in school. He was well liked. With two student tragedies at the school, administrators have brought in a crisis counseling team for the students.
Emile was born in Haiti and came to this country when she was young. She has 3 sisters who came with her and four brothers, three who still live in Haiti and one who lives in Miami.
At the time Emile was going to school to be a nurse after quitting her job as a hair dresser.
This is so sickening.. To die at the hands of your own child. Flesh and blood that you carried for 9 months and took care of for 16 years.. Last month another teen shot his mom as she lay sleeping cause she wouldn’t let him join a gang.

They charged him with 2nd degree murder, now that's insane. He obviously planned this and killed her deliberately. It should be 1st degree murder and he should be convicted without chance of parole ever. This maniac needs to be put away forever!
