Richmand Heights, MO - Anna Brown went to St. Mary’s hospital complaining of a sprained ankle. She ended up being dragged out of the emergency room, thrown in a county jail cell and died 15 minutes later. And it was all caught on tape.
In the week before Brown’s death last September she went to two hospitals complaining of leg pain after spraining her ankle. They both released her and said that she was fine. With continued pain she went to St. Mary’s around 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 20, her left ankle was swollen. She was there for about seven hours, during which ultrasounds on both of her legs were negative for blood clots.
Brown left the hospital but returned once again eight hours later. She was discharged at 7.a.m. Three hours later she was still there.
Already having a bad run the last few months after losing custody of her two children for having an unsanitary home Brown refused to leave the 3rd hospital.
Police who were already at the hospital on another call were told that they had a patient who refused to leave. Police arrive on the scene and ask Anna to leave. She yells from her wheelchair telling them that her legs hurt so bad that she couldn’t stand up.
After obtaining a “Fit for Confinement” report from a doctor at 12:30 p.m, dragged out of the wheelchair and arrested for trespassing.
When the patrol car arrived at the jailhouse Anna was instructed to swing her legs out of the car. She once again told them that she could not move her legs because of the pain and asked if they had a wheelchair for her. They gave her a 2 second warning to swing her legs out and she once again told them her legs hurt and she couldn’t stand up. So they dragged her out of the car by her legs.
A few minutes later she was carried into a cell and placed on her back. They closed the cell door and left her there while she cried in agony.
15 minutes later, jail staff came to check on her and she was cold to the touch..
A short time later they were shocking her with a defibrillator and rushing her back to St. Mary’s, where her nine siblings rushed to be with her. She was dead.
Later the family found out that the cops assumed that Brown was on drugs. Jail staff is heard at the end of the video stating that the officers thought she was a druggie. Although no drugs were found in her system.
“My sister is not here today because people passed judgment,” said one of her siblings, Krystle Brown. She died of a blod clot in a her leg that spread to her lungs. The same blood clot that 3 hospital’s told her she did not have…. The hospitals are saying that none of this new information changes the story.
I had to sit the computer down for a few hours before writing this story… The video below is pretty graphic and will more then likely leave you emotionally upset.

2:30 mark – Cops snatch Anna out of the wheelchair and put her on the hospital floor
4:00 mark – After sitting on the floor for 2 minutes, they decide to put her in another wheelchair
4:45 mark – She’s handcuffed and sitting in cop car
5:20 mark – Cop tells her to get out of the car and she asked if she could have a wheelchair, he says no.
6:00 mark – They drag her out of the cop car
6:40 mark – Jail peeps drag her into cell…you can hear her moaning in pain
15 minutes later she was dead!
I’m feeling real Kanye West right now… Nobody cares about black people..

A month ago I would have said no, now I know I was wrong.
Drug use does cause blood clots but that is no excuse for this treatment

And its becoming more evident everyday, from the streets,to the prisons, to politics…

Mr. Cadet, I’m not sure who or what failed to raise you or what synapse misfired but you can’t control other communities nor can you force others not to be racist especially since said racism has been in effect for 500 or so years…what you can do is strengthen as a collective so you can provide protection, hospitals, schools etc. for your people, as many other groups have done. Now if you’re done gettin’ in touch with your feminine side, there are people here who take this seriously and want to have a civil discussion #Godhelpeffeminatmales!

Yes your majesty I do believe that no one cares, but the bigger alarm is that our own don't even care about our own. Slavery even now.
I think people don't care about people in general…
I believe there is a fear of the unknown when a person of color is comfronted by stereotypes and hatred.

I feel so ashamed that I live here in Stl an that they would do that to that woman it's supposed to be one of the better hospitals here I guess I was wrong smh
wtf!!! i dont understand the mentality of some people – it sickens me, upsets me and makes me sooooo angry that they did that to her!!! i just dont know anymore… smdh my prayers are with her family and loved ones. the racisit element in america has a lot to be ashamed of and a lot to answer to. i hope the people at the hospital and the police will be charged with something!!!

That's more the hospitals fault then the officers they are just doing their job hospitals should save lives

Not race, this occurred due to oiur unfortunate health care system. Assumptions are made all of the time and most are incorrect, hurtful and demeaning. Leading health care workers to not provide the best care for the client. It's very unfortunate. A change in our health care system via workers, insurance, staffing policies etc. would help.
So wrong on so many levels =(.
