The pursuit of justice in Trayvon Martin‘s shooting death has incited a hotbed of slander and accusations when it comes to the slain Florida teen.
New reports suggest that Trayvon was suspended three times, had run-ins with school officials, was caught with an empty bag with traces of marijuana and was carrying a bag of jewelry with a screwdriver.
In an attempt to smear the name of Trayvon Martin, his parents have come forward lashing out at reports that their son had been suspended from school because of drugs, graffiti and suspected burglary.
According to the Miami Herald, in October, a school police investigator said he saw Trayvon on the school surveillance camera in an unauthorized area “hiding and being suspicious.”
Then he said he saw Trayvon mark up a door with “W.T.F” — an acronym for “what the f—.”
The officer said he found Trayvon the next day and went through his book bag in search of the graffiti marker.
Instead, the officer reported he found women’s jewelry and a screwdriver that he described as a “burglary tool,” according to a Miami-Dade Schools Police report obtained by The Miami Herald.
Word of the incident came as the family’s lawyer, Ben Crump, acknowledged that Trayvon was suspended in February for getting caught with an empty bag with traces of marijuana, which he called “irrelevant” and an attempt to demonize a victim.
According to the school police investigator, Trayvon’s backpack contained 12 pieces of jewelry, in addition to a watch, a large flathead screwdriver, silver wedding bands and earrings with diamonds.
Trayvon was asked if the jewelry belonged to his family or a girlfriend.
“Martin replied it’s not mine. A friend gave it to me,” he responded, according to the report. Trayvon declined to name the friend.
Trayvon was not disciplined because of the discovery, but was instead suspended for graffiti, according to the report.
School police impounded the jewelry and sent photos of the items to detectives at Miami-Dade police for further investigation.
A lawyer for the dead teen’s family acknowledged Trayvon had been suspended for graffiti, but said the family knew nothing about the jewelry and the screwdriver.
Crump said on the accusations:
“It’s completely irrelevant to what happened Feb. 26. They never heard this, and don’t believe it’s true. If it were true, why wouldn’t they call the parents? Why wasn’t he arrested?”
Trayvon, who was a junior at Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School, had never been arrested, police and the family have said.
Crump said this is a crude attempt to demonize Trayvon and portray him in a bad light, adding that no evidence ever surfaced that the jewelry was stolen.
That suspension was followed four months later by another one in February, in which Trayvon was caught with an empty plastic bag with traces of marijuana in it. A school police report obtained by The Miami Herald specifies two items: a bag with marijuana residue and a “marijuana pipe.”
The punishment was the third for the teen. On Monday, the family also said Trayvon had earlier been suspended for tardiness and truancy.
Trayvon’s parents viewed the new reports as an orchestrated campaign to demonize their son as a “junkie and thief,” a routine occurrence in such cases, the Rev. Al Sharpton said at an afternoon press conference.
Zimmerman, Sharpton said, had no way of knowing about Trayvon’s school record — “because he didn’t interview him before he shot him.”
Sharpton continued:
“The only thing that’s relevant is what Zimmerman knew. Let’s not play this double standard of trying to damage who is dead and sanitize who is the cause of the death.”
Trayvon’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, came to the defense of her son saying he never had any problems with gangs or the police.
In fact, she said, when she transferred him out of Carol City High School to be closer to home, the school wanted him to stay at Carol City because they liked him and he was a good student.
“They killed my son, and now they are trying to kill his reputation,” Fulton said.
Trayvon’s school records are irrelevant, but what is relevant is that he was unarmed and shot to death for wearing a hoodie and looking “suspicious.” The fight for justice continues for Trayvon – no matter what kind of allegations and reports pop up. #HoodiesUp.

Why are y'all surprised. In the event of any persons death, their background is exposed. It's life! Y'all trying to protest everything, stop it and stay on your vague mission. This is who he was and that's it. You can post a perfect image but we all know that's not reality. Momma you knew exactly who your son was, don't try to paint this choir boy picture. It is what it is!
People please stop throwing religion into this. Prayer isn't meant to bring someone to justice. I think y'all are confused on how and what to pay for, justice for Trayvon isn't Gods job.
It doesn't matter what his image was. He's dead now. The police told Zimmerman to fall back. He continued on anyway. I didn't see zimmermans badge. He was looking fir trouble. I say that because if not he wouldve listened to the police who told him to not pursue.
The weed is irrelevant. You could go to any high school in America and find some weed on a kid 16 17 years old. That's no shocker. Many of us who commented have smoked a little weed at that age.
Wow! Well, he was a teen boy im not surprised. We all experimented with something as a teenager, but that has nothing to do with who HE is as a child of God. That has nothing to do with the issue at hand. I do believe he was a good kid, not perfect, but good kid who had loving parents &lost his life to a senseless crime! We will continue to fight for justice for Trayvon and allll the Trayvons of the world!
Good Boy, Bad Boy, Shady Kid, whatever his reputation was…
What needs to be focused on are the facts of what happened that night.
What did Trayvon do to Zimmerman?
Why did Zimmerman continue to pursue Trayvon after operators told him not to?
Did Trayvon threaten Zimmerman in anyway? If so was shooting him a justified way to go?
Was Trayvon's shooting an act of a hate crime because he was a black male?
Those are the questions media and the judicial system need to be focused on.
What everyone should be doing is praying for the Martin family to get closure and peace after what has just happened to them.
The more we all pray for something "bad" or "justified" to happen to Zimmerman that makes us no better than him.
I pray the judicial system will realize they mad an error, and correct it so Trayvon has a fair investigation.
And I pray the Martins will have a much more peaceful life once everything has settled and come to an end.
Darwin, how is it NOT Gods job? The bible says venges are mine? I do believe zimmerman will have to face judgment by God. I do believe that he will NEVER be free even IF he walks free! God is almighty and he will handle Zimmerman as he sees fit.

Im not praying for death on Zimmerman i don't pray for him to get beat up i pray for Justice! From researching this case, i have yet to see what was the point of Zimmerman following Trayvon! If he had done what the officer told him to do, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Now we don't know what happened wen he APPROACHED Trayvon, but we DO know he had NO right to approach him, right? He provoked him, right? Im not surprised everytime an unarmed black man is killed they make them look like a its their fault emmit till, sean bell, and now travon. history repeats its self with the same racial nonsence and im tired. Its bad enough blacks are killing blacks but its worse to know that all the efforts of those black and white who fought to have equal justice for all people have gone out the window. I wonder if dr king is proud of this dream.

Facts? There are no facts….which is the problem
Once Zimmerman gets off "Not Guilty" he CANNOT be tried again — so PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE. Because if they arrest him NOW, given the current law on the books in FL, and go to trial and he gets ACQUITTED because of haste — I shudder to think how "we" will react. I refer you all to Rodney King Trial and the resulting riots. Multiply THAT by multiple states. NOT A GOOD LOOK.
And I'm just talking about arrest and prosecution based on sufficient evidence — if care isn't taken he will get off and, like OJ, if he decides to admit he really did kill that boy on purpose, he can't be retried. Why risk it? Maybe they will repeal that "Stand Your Ground" law in light of this situation, but UNTIL THEN, legally, he can't be arrested until they build a case for doing so.
. . . and then you KNOW defense is going to bring up the school suspension because of possession of drug paraphernalia, the fact that he was sent to Sanford because of school issues in Miami, the ALLEGED (could be photo-shopped) Facebook and Twitter pictures and comments alluding to his selling drugs and beating up bus drivers. ALL THIS: to establish disposition and the REASONABLE DOUBT that Zimmerman was actually defending himself against this "delinquent kid, high on weed with a bad attitude".
