Allen Iverson has a pile of legal and financial problems these days.. Just when it seems like A.I. had stopped living up to his nickname and running out of Answers the basketball player pulls out a game winning shot with 2 seconds left on the clock.. Just like the old days..
Iverson’s wife Tawanna took Allen to divorce court citing the divorce was “irretrievably broken”. She then filed paperwork citing that Allen took $20,000 out of the joint account and left her broke and on the brink of homelessness while he balled out.
Most recently, The Answer is hoping to cancel out some of his impeding financial problems by rekindling intimate relations with his wife. Iverson’s legal team has filed paperwork asking a judge to toss out Tawanna’s divorce petition because the couple has “resumed their marital relationship” by cohabiting and having sexual relations... wait that’s not it… AND also “holding themselves out as husband and wife” between November 2011 – February 2012.
After having passionate physical relations for 3 months Allen wants the divorce petition null and void:
According to Iverson, that’s enough for a judge to throw out Tawanna’s divorce petition — on grounds the marriage isn’t “irretrievably broken” … as she had claimed.
It’s unclear if Iverson actually wants to get back together with Tawanna — the former NBA player’s legal move might simply be an attempt to delay paying support.
Seems like the Answer that A.I. and his team came up is to buy some time by tricking Tawanna into getting with him again..
This could be a game winning shot or it could simply take the proceedings into overtime. Hope it works out for him.
SIDENOTE - Back in January, a judge ruled to have Iverson’s bank account garnished to pay off a $900,000 debt to a jeweler. Allen isn’t doing too well financially although a source does claim to have stashed money away for Iverson. But, according to Forbes Allen Iverson earned over $200 Million & Now he’s broke.
