Dwayne Wade along with his two favorite girls, ”Good Deeds” actress girlfriend Gabrielle Union and his mom Jolinda attended the launch party for Dwyane Wade’s new Hublot King Power ‘D-Wade” watch.
Often spotted wearing Hublot Big Bang watches D. Wade was chosen as the new BRAND AMBASSADOR of HUBLOT last year. So it was only natural that D Wade design his own Hublot watch when he had a lot of free time on his hands, during the NBA lock out of 2011.
Along with @vinceojewels, Wade created a limited edition “ultimate basketball” watch for the Swiss luxury timepiece maker. At the average price of a Hublot Watch, D. Wade’s King Power sells for $25,000.
Only 500 of the limited edition watches are available. The “King Power Dwyane Wade Hublot Watch” is a 48mm black watch which comes in the Miami Heat colorway and features “3″ for Wade’s number and has a basketball effect in the watch face. It even has stitching on the strap to tip its cap to the game as the bands red and silver stitching is weaved to resemble a basketball net.
Known to be one of the most down to earth players in the league, part of the proceeds for the watch sales will go toward the Wade World Foundation.
Wade says the design of the watch reflects his on personal elements:
“I wanted the watch to have basketball characteristics. It’s a combination of a lifestyle and a sports watch. You can dress it up or dress it down,” Wade told WWD at the Hublot’s Madison Avenue flagship.
“I really wanted to add my subtle details. I wanted it to be authentic to who I am. I think this watch speaks to me and my personality,” Wade said. “My style is classic and gentlemanly with a little spice mixed in.”
