TAMI ROMAN is the latest cast member of the Basketball Wives to be hit with a LAWSUIT and this one is pretty tacky YAKI.
Last summer, after finishing up her second season of Basketball Wives franchise, the actress signed a lucrative hair deal. The deal with Creme De La Creme to promote a luxury hair weave line came as a surprise to most considering Tami’s weaves were not the best at that time. But Roman popped up with a flawless hair weave and a silky hair collection at the end of the summer.
I was really glad to see Tami being able to elevate herself with such a business deal but it looks like the deal ended up going sour. The company is saying that Tami breached her agreement to promote the hair line and in addition promoted her competing line when it was time to promote Creme De La Creme on the Basketball Wives show.
Part of the agreement was a debut on the Basketball Wives show. Allegedly Tami’s managerial team told the film crew not to film the products.
According to Crème, Tami bailed on every attempt they made to coordinate their appearance on the show.
The final straw for Crème came last month when Roman was supposed to promote Crème at a hair show in Atlanta. They claim Roman showed up as planned with a “BB Wives” film crew … but was there promoting her OWN line of hair in competition with Crème instead. They also claim Tami’s manager instructed the crew not to film anything Crème.
Crème is suing Tami for $75,000 in excess damages and they want the Atlanta Hair Show footage shot for “Basketball Wives” pulled from the show unless it’s edited to feature them. Tami issued a statement to TMZ:
“My responsibility is to my fans and supporters. I can no longer be affiliated with a company that does not uphold my standards with regards to quality business practices.”
Tami was also sued for not fulfilling an oral contract with her last business manager.
Obviously Tami’s management informed her that with her level of visibility it would be fundamentally wiser financially and for longevity purposes to introduce her own line of hair products instead.. If breaking the contract will only cost Roman $75,000 to walk away that’s not bad in exchange for being able to be in full control of her image and branding.
