Nicki Minaj covers Allure Magazine this month. In the issue Nicki looks back at her child hood. A childhood where at nine she was obsessed with styling her hair every which a way and quickly realized that her hair was a means of reinventing herself. She could always become a new person.
Now Nicki’s impressionable 8 year old fans who also love their hair look up to Nicki. They may not understand what the Young Money rapper is saying but the little barbz are completely devoted to the head Barb because frankly they think she’s a cartoon character. Nicki is well aware of her power and uses cartoon voices to amplify their devotion.
Nicki met Jay Z at the Victoria Secret runway show. Jay kindly congratulated her on all of her success. Just like her mentor Lil Wayne Miss Minaj wants to take the rap crown from Jay Z, but she wants to take it mogul style. Rap is just a springboard for Nicki. The colorful rapper has dreams of creating an empire that spans into many other facets.
So I guess we should assume that eventually Nicki too will be calling herself the best rapper alive.. Nicki has yet to break Lil Kim’s US record as the highest charting female rapper but she indeed did break the record today in the UK as the Highest Charting Female Rapper In History of the UK. That success comes due to The Pink Friday rapper hitting the #3 spot on the UK’s hot 100 list with her song “Starships.”
