Well, Let’s just say $52,000. I asked the question on Facebook: If you won a lottery for $52,000 that was paid out at $1,000 a week would you still work? I wanted to see how common thinking folks would react to this question. As far as me, my last job I did not make that and I was very comfortable. I stated that I would probably work 3 or 4 years to stack up six digits and at that point, I would tell my boss to kiss my balls.
Strangely the people with the least money (broke people) responded to the question with statements like, “that aint no money”,”after taxes that’s like 700 a week”, “you can maybe go to 1 island or something”.
They left me shaking my head. Let’s dissect these answers. They’re saying that the taxes would kill them. These people fail to realize that they already work for a lot less. So you telling me you work for 40 hours a week for an hourly wage, but you won’t stop working and chill at home on a $52,000 a year income that you don’t have to work for?
Then the infamous you can maybe go to 1 island. A lot of people are programmed to think that they have to keep up with the Jones’. This mentality will always keep you broke. I know how much my Bills cost me each month. And that’s usually less than $1,200 a month. I know my lifestyle. I do consider myself to be financially savvy. A lot of the people responding have never budgeted their money or set financial goals. Most of that is due to a “will always be broke” or an “employee for life” type of mindset.
Only a handful of people said that they would quit their job and start a business. Or quit there job and go back to school. Those answers were more acceptable. If you don’t live in NJ, CT, CA or NY 52k should be more than enough to live. One of my Mentors said “man if you live debt free you really don’t have to make a lot of money to live”. He also said that he seen a lot of people go under in business living out side their means.
The moral of the story is we have to change our mindset from being an employee. We need to build self confidence, self respect and get comfortable with our selves to live within our means. It’s ok to want nice things but those things should not validate who you are nor should they put you in danger of being broke. If you do not know how much it takes for you to live you need to find that out so you can become financially free.

Ok I just read the article and I still remain with the same answer. Keep working and invest the money. stop working and go to school is good. Quitting a job(even part time) isn't the best decision seeing how most small businesses are unsuccessful in the first 5 years. It takes money to make money and anytime you make a serious investment you'd better be prepared to lose money as well. It's a gamble period. How can you start a business and live off the $50 k with ease? work to support yourself put your winnings toward your business

I read the blog. But i would still be working. I may take off from one of my jobs and go to school. But out here a 1-2 bedroom apartment is like 16-1700 a month, and thats for an apartment. I want a house one day lol so yes i would keep working and stacking my money up

First I would focus on getting my house and everything else I own completely paid off by continuing to work. Get it to the point were I have no payments for any of my possessions. Only electric and even that I would convert to off the grid power supply. Then I would start a bunch of independent small businesses and have people running them for me so I could spend the rest of my time awakening people to the truth and the lies. Start getting communities all over the country to realize the importance of starting cooperatives to collapse all of the Plutocracy's Monopolies such as all the corporate mega food suppliers, AMA, Pharmacuetical Industry, crooked non profit foundations, foreign institution called the Federal Reserve who are ripping off the american people, foreign mining companies etc etc etc. and the list goes on. LOL! that was a lot of work HAHAHA! SMH

I could never be someone that just has money and sits back and relaxes all the time. And if i had kids i wouldnt want them to grow up spoiled and not knowing what hard work is ..

That's a silly question. $50,000 is nothing. Now if you asked if a person won the big one for $20,000 a/week then I can say that would be a great question.
