Dawn Richard has done what no other Bad Boy artist has been able to do. Get fired by Diddy amicably.

In an interview with Bossip, she recently revealed that although she’s still working with Diddy when it comes to Dirty Money, but he allowed her to do her own thing independently.

“Puff has been really great with being supportive of me starting a solo career, and he’s agreed to let me go from Bad Boy. I’m really grateful to him. He didn’t have to do that. He could have been what they say that he would be, and he wasn’t at all. He gave me a business decision. It was a very amicable decision. Now, it’s just about the music, and I want to make him and them proud of believing in me enough to let me go try it.”

If you ask me and this is Ask Kissy, Puffy only let Dawn go cause he can’t make money with her period.. It’s a lost cause so he kindly let her go.. At the end of the day it is still a business. The decision to let her go is actually a good look for Diddy’s image.  The mogul is making an attempt to ressurect Bad Boy and give the label a better image this year.

Considering other artists have been unable to escape Diddy’s wrath and still be on his good side, Dawn is very lucky and should indeed consider herself blessed.  Mase waited 10 years to get out of his contract with Diddy….   Earlier this year Diddy was quoted saying the career life expectancy for an artist in the industry is 2 years.
