Ja Rule is currently serving a two year prison sentence  for gun possession and tax evasion.

But the 36-year-old,  hasn’t let being in prison keep him down.  While on lockdown  he met  some fellow PHD grads / White Collar Corporate  Criminals; like Dennis  Kozlowski, 65, who is currently serving an  8  to 25 year  sentence for corporate money laundering with Tyco Inc.  72-year-old  former state controller Alan Hevesi is Ja’s other new buddy. The two  have become Ja Rule’s new posse,  who he often refers to as “Hevey D” and “Koz”.

Kozlowski  who was in prison  (currently on work release ) for using the Tyco company earnings as his own personal bank account,  ’learned’ Ja Rule everything he needed to know about  stocks and bonds.  Hevesi  educated Ja Rule on a thing or two about the perennial  impasse in Albany.  The posse would often  gather themselves around the  T.V. watching  the Jon Stewart and Stephan  Colbert shows on comedy central .

Ja Rule feels that he has finally found true friends, he spoke about the two in an exclusive interview with The Daily News.

Koz just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here,” he said. “But they’re both great, smart guys,
“Hevey’s a Democrat like me, so that helps,” Ja Rule said. “He told me how it’s like pulling teeth with the two parties trying to get bills passed.”

“I was studying for my GED and Koz came in and talked to me and said, if you need any help, let me know, “It’s funny,” he said. “We’re from totally different walks of life. But when you’re here, you’re here.” 

After Ja Rule got his GED Kozlowski educated him on how to buy airline stock and study business.  Rule is currently  taking college courses and working towards a degree.  Ja Rule has also incorporated his new prison lifestyle into his new album, “Pain is Love 2″  which is scheduled to be released this month.
