Miami, Florida -  A 34-year-old mother  along with her  40-year-old boyfriend STARVED their 9 year old child till he was only 35 pounds.

Marsee Strong and boyfriend Edward Bailey  appeared in court, charged with aggravated abuse and neglect of a child, after being arrested on Saturday evening.

According to North Miami Beach police, neighbors found the boy wandering on the sidewalk naked, malnourished and badly bruised.  One neighbor watched  little Ezell fall onto a chair beneath the window after he jumped and got up to run for his life.

Paramedics rushed the boy to the hospital, where he begged for food and told employees he had not eaten in three days. His body showed ‘permanent marks of abuse all over,’ according to an arrest report. Hospital officials said the tiny boy weighed  the same amount as a TWO (2) year old.

In interviews with police both Strong and Bailey denied physically abusing the child. Strong denied hitting the child but ‘admitted to failing to protect her child from others and not properly supervising him and getting him medical treatment in a timely manner.’

Bailey also denied hitting the boy but admitted he allowed ‘others’ to hit him.  Both suspects are unemployed. The family had a history with the Florida Department of Children and Families. The therapist who visited the home previously claimed  the child suffered from psychosis .

In court she testified that Ezell self mutilates himself and eats his own skin while taking psychotropic medication which resulted in a decrease in appetite . The Judge was clearly not buying it.  Judge Liederman wants to know how the hell the family court system missed such a NEON SIGN case of abuse for five years. (That therapist needs to have her license taken)

Relatives are now caring for the boy’s 4 siblings. The judge said this was one of the worst cases of child abuse she has ever seen.  Judge Leiderman said the child looked like he came from Auschwitz (nazi concentration camp).  

The family was not partaking in any Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers diet plans at the time of abuse.
