REGGAE STAR ELEPHANT MAN BUSTED FOR RAPE
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) – Police say they have arrested a popular Jamaican dancehall star accused of raping a 31-year-old woman at his home on the island.
Detectives arrested Elephant Man late Monday after an investigation was conducted by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
Police say a female has accused the 36-year-old entertainer of assaulting her at his home in St. Andrew parish.
The police said the charges stem from an incident at his St. Andrew home earlier this month.
The entertainer known offstage as Oneal Bryan is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Defense attorney Linda Wright could not be reached Tuesday.
The dancehall rapper is best known for the track “Willie Bounce” and for his collaboration with recording artists such as Wyclef Jean and Busta Rhymes
He was questioned in the presence of his attorney yesterday and then later charged with grievous sexual assault and rape.
