Spinderella is Disgusted with Alicia Keys and Other Wanna B DJ’s

“It’s Digusting . Record sales down.. become a Dj? FOH.”

This is what Spinderella  tweeted to  her  follower @Planet12law, about the  current explosion of celebrity  DJ–ing

Lately it has been a celebrity craze with this DJ hoopla… In November of last year Alicia Keys DJ-ed as “DJ  AK-47” in New York.  Beyonce’s younger sister Solange  and Erykah Badu, were DJ-ing throughout 2011.

Over the weekend  Hip Hop artists  Kanye West Dj-ed  for  New Years Eve  under the  name of  ‘Yeezy World Peace’  in Las Vegas , while Lil Wanye joined in the craze when he Dj-ed at a New Years Eve party in Mami.   In addition Rihanna decided to join the craze by spinning her 1’s and 2’s at Diddy’s New Years Bash.

This was Enough for legendary DJ Spinderella who has taken the artist form to another level with the group Salt –n- Pepper. She doesn’t appreciate artists taking her art form lightly and went to her twitter page to express her outrage with several tweets.

@Spindeezy Spinderella

 @@planet12law it’s disgusting

record sales down .. become a Dj ? FOH

Djing is just a’trend’ now. artists jump on the bandwagon cause it’s the ‘in’ career move. what about real Djs that ‘bleed’this culture?
I think the Celebrities are doing this to expand themselves..I do understand Spinderella feeling slightly disrespected…  But, it’s not  That Serious, calm down.

SideNote Fact :

Did yall know that Spinderella and Tami Roman of Basketball Wives  shared the same baby daddy…. Yes Ex- basketball player Kenny Anderson is the father of Spinderella’s only daugther  Christy!!! Now,  hes currently married to a  PLEASANT WHITE LADY…WHO KNEW

Actually just talk to a friend whom well connect to the music biz.. she is going after the wrong people .. she need to take her beef with the promotors whom prolly never heard of her. But djing a top shelf party can net you big $

She’s a hypocrite, though. When she disbanded from Salt-N-Pepa she became a radio personality in NYC, L.A., and I think she’s in Dallas now. But that’s a slap in the face to all the folks that honed their skills via school. She, Yo-Yo, Monie Love, Curtis Blow, MC Serch and a slew of others got their on-airs skills due to their celebrity.

But spin need to come out with her mixtapes doesn’t make no sense why she isn’t a producer in demand. But it a big deal because it is an art that does not happen overnight. I don’t like the new DJ as much I did like the old 1200s pros but innovations is ok but it is killing the music business

Spin got a legitimate point and I rather hire a vet than a wannabe ..

  5. Its like a spelling bee champion getting mad if you always use autocorrect. The world has changed, get a new skillset.

Damn back in the day if you didn’t know what you was doing the party was over! But everybody was guess DJing and talking about music. I think she should relax or bring it back to full strength!

Hmmm you can make a strong case that DJ’s aren’t artist. I never considered them musicians just because they spin someone else’s music… That being said you do need some skills behind the on 1′s and 2′ but its dying out. She did help pave the way though.

  11. DJ’ing is an art form until tech geeks integrated it…… (No Skillz required)
