On the release of his new album “Love After War” Robin Thicke has been heavy on the interview circuit and Essence Magazine stepped up to get their piece of Thicke piece of the pie. Most interesting of the article is the discussion on whether black women arre better off dating white men. As expected he kept it P.C. I mean he does have a black audience..
VIA Essence.com:
How does it feel to know that people are getting married and making babies off your music?
It’s actually the best thing. It’s nice if you can make someone drop it like it’s hot, or pop a bottle. But we’re always dropping it and popping it. What I realize about the difference between me and my peers — you know, Chris Brown and Drizzy Drake and all my musical peers — is that they haven’t been with the same woman for 18 years and I’ve been with a Black woman for 18 years. I’ve never dated a White woman. Don’t want to. I’ve never been on a date with a White woman. When you have that relationship and that means the most to you — you know I can’t live without that woman, she is my muse, my best friend, and my creative partner. I didn’t have a great relationship with my mom and she didn’t have a great relationship with her dad and we became that for each other. She’s my mama and I’m her daddy. I even call her mama and she calls me daddy. We are that to each other. If someone saw you whispering in Paula’s ear, what would you probably be saying?
I can’t wait to get you home and love you up for two to three hours. I like to try to get her into double-digit orgasms as much as possible. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when I’ve got my mojo and my swag, it happens. Every few months it’s just like bam — repeated. Repeated! I like her to just be going crazy in the bedroom. The media often tells Black women that they’re better off dating White guys. What’s your response to that?
I think that’s ridiculous. There are so many good Black men out there that are hardworking, decent, and handsome, you know? To start that rumor is as bad as starting any other negative rumor. There are great Black men out there. There are only a few good White men — trust me. (Laughs) Good luck finding a good White man who understands your journey. I only have three White friends. I’ve got 20 Black male friends, who are all good men who take good care of their wives, and good care of their children. I know amazing Black men. Maybe the women have to take better care of their men. Maybe you’re being too stubborn. Maybe you’re not saying you’re sorry. You have to take good care of him, too. You have to give love to get love.

THANK GOD that brutha Robin Thicke responded like so. Real as can be! I feel sorry for any black woman who wanted to read divisive shit….
better off?..hmmm good question. i will say this, since dating them, they certainly appreciate and respect me more. nothing better than showing love and recieving it back and even more…and i LOVE every bit of it!!…but to each is own.
NO!….*I have spoken* ( ;0) @ Kissy.)
Youre better off with whomever loves you best – red purple green black white yellow…whateva
I’ll Pass… I Need Hershey Chocolate.
And i am better off with a black woman.. so i guess i am the only one that will love em right..
NOWADAYS: YES! Not necessarily exclusively, but other options need to be explored. The SAME way black men “explore” so should women. There is sooo much to see and learn about in this world and should not be limited to race or nationality. And the unfortunate FACT is that non-celebrity black men that are baby mama free, with clean credit and criminal backgrounds are FEW and FAR between–and those that DO make the grade are already married or gay. Its a FACT. So then what?
I agree with Che’
Do people even read articles anymore….
I read the article it’s good but the question is dum…if a Black woman believes that she is dum…lml
Sidebar: Celebrity black men have major baby-mama drama and rap sheets too — I guess the millions of dollars balance the scales, though! In the case of having unlimited financial resources, one doesn’t need to rely on credit and the ability to secure gainful employment like lay-people do! LOL
Are white women better off dating Black Men?..lmao..child please!
Date who you want regardless of race if you really feeling them..
what..12.21.1
I mean he has a point, but I’m ALSO CERTAIN that his “20 black male friends” aren’t in the lower-middle class, either! When he befriends the MESS (the likes of Weezy and Wacka Flacka) that average black chicks have to deal with, then he can come back with that answer! LOL
and thats where you’re wrong Danielle… Weezy and Waka Flacka should be single but some women chose them as their mates. I love how you associate ‘lower-middle class’ black men as a MESS (the likes of Weezy and Wacka Flacka)… in this economy. SMH. You will be chosen those you attract, period.
Danielle you sound like you and your crowd are teens to early 20s, change your circle. SMH.
Yeah Danielle you gotta make small changes if that’s the type of men your dealing with. And I know some white men that are the biggest playas I know.
Sorry, but I’m VERY GROWN — Haven’t seen a 20 anything in about 5 years! I’ve been blessed enough to travel and live in diverse neighborhoods, attend diverse schools, and have developed my opnion as a result. I have ALSO lived in not-so-diverse neighborhoods and attend all black and hispanic schools up until high school. I am well-educated and self-employed — I’m also happily married nearly 9 years to a VERY ATTRACTIVE CHOCOLATE BLACK MAN. My opinion stems from having a mixed family background IN ADDITION TO having had dated SEVERAL white men of different socioeconomical backgrounds. I’m just open-minded AND REALISTIC about the state of the black family. Its a FACT and rather than bicker about it and belittle each other — let’s try and figure out WHY! Why are there so many single black mothers raising the “men” of our future? WHY are there so many incarcerated black men or men with “dirty” records? WHY? Its not because of me, that’s for sure!
. . . But @Vernon and Tywon: Thanks for the compliment! I’m glad that I still look like I’m in my 20s!
two words SARAH BAARTMAN LEARN FROM HISTORY
Okaaaay?!?!?!?
Okaaaay?!?!?!? It’d be safe to say that these “video vixens” are fully cooperative in the Sarah Baartman phenomenon.
no doubt and so are the rainbow breeders..both are the same
LOL — SMH . . .
