NYPD Officers Make Blatant Racial Comments On Facebook Page
It appears that a few cops do not like being assigned to the West Indian Day Parade in New York:
The Brooklyn DA says the office will investigate NYPD officers who may be linked to a Facebook group complaining about having to work the West Indian-American Day Carnival. The group called itself “No More West Indian Day Detail,” and said it was intended for “NYPD officers who are threatened by superiors and forced to be victims themselves by the violence of the West Indian Day massacre.”
The New York Times has obtained a 76-page document made up of mostly racist comments that were posted on a Facebook group created for New York City Police Department officers to vent about being assigned to patrol Brooklyn’s West Indian Day Parade. They called people “animals” and “savages.” One comment said, “Drop a bomb and wipe them all out.”
The Times compared the names of 150 who commented on the Facebook group called “No More West Indian Day Detail” and found more than 60 percent matched the names of police officers. Before the group was deleted, it grew to some 1,200 members. The group also included fire department members.
Officers were upset they had to work the West Indian Day Parade because it’s seen violent outbursts resulting in deaths over the past few years.
The entire parade weekend is not riddled with violence, and some NYPD officers look forward to bumping and grinding with parade goers.
Others become extremely upset after being assigned to The West Indian Day Parade Detail:
“I say have the parade one more year and when they all gather drop a bomb and wipe them all out,” wrote a commenter who the Times later confirmed was a NYPD officer.
But some of the people who posted comments seemed emboldened by Facebook’s freewheeling atmosphere. “Let them kill each other,” wrote one of the Facebook members who posted comments under a name that matched that of a police officer.
- “Filth,” wrote a commenter who identified himself as Nick Virgilio, another participant whose name matched that of a police officer.
- “It’s not racist if it’s true,” yet another wrote.
- One commenter referred to working the parade detail as “ghetto training,” while another recommended relocating the parade “to the zoo.”
- The safety of cops should be more important that the safety of “the animals,” said one.
- “Welcome to the Liberal NYC Gale, where if the cops sneeze too loud they get investigated for excessive force but the ‘civilians’ can run around like savages and there are no repercussions,” one person opined.
- “Why is everyone calling this a parade,” a group member asked. “It’s a scheduled riot.”
- Another suggested, “I say have the parade one more year, and when they all gather drop a bomb and wipe them all out.”
The officers were at times spurred on by civilian supporters and other city workers, including members of the Fire Department, an analysis indicated.
A comparison by The Times of the names of some of the more than 150 people who posted comments on the page with city employee listings showed that more than 60 percent matched the names of police officers.
I guess those cops on the Facebook page are just upset that they didn’t get to have a good time like the cops in this video.

First of all the officer in the photo failed to act in a professional manner. Bumping & grinding with the ladies will be seen very negatively around the world. Second I always felt that more black officer are needed to police our community. You don’t see black officers policing lil Italy .

Some of the comments tickled me… I’m sure some of the comments were racist but others were simply stating how they felt..
Doesn’t surprise me at all… I got friends on Facebook that say just as much racial stuff….

I’m not surprise that the cops are making racial comments. I’m from Trinidad and on labor day on Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn when the woman be wining on them they do not complain they seem to be enjoying a damn lot hypocrites.

some people act as if racism only occurs down south…….racism on the east and west coast is some of the worst kind of racism their is….Dr.King said it himself that the worst racism he experienced during the movement was in cicero(a suburb of chicago)….im not surprised at all….
Fuck the police!! Something you expect from rednecks. But I’m sure they will be put on administrative leave and found of no wrongdoing like always. Sad this world we live in!!
