It doesn’t seem like life for rapper “Loon” will ever get better after leaving Bad Boy Records. Chauncey “Loon” Hawkins who has taken up the islamic name Amir Mudadith was taken into custody in Brussels this week and is awaiting extradition to the United States.
Loon’s unfortunate arrest stems from 3 year old drug charges which were filed in May of 2011. The indictment states that Loon between early 2006 and September 2008, “knowingly and intentionally” possessed with intent to distribute at least one kilogram of heroin in North Carolina.. He was attempting to enter the country when he was snatched up at customs.
Since his conversion to Islam the rapper has become much loved over seas. So loved that the jounrnalists and athorities are being tight lipped to the public as to why Loon was arrested. The Parlemento is stating that the reasons for his arrest are “unknown. Loon was arrested by Belgium authorities by the request of the United States based on the Patriot Act as he made an attempt to enter the county to lecture at the Islamic Center of Belgium (a place of worship and training Islamic Salafist trend controlled by Saudi Arabia).
