Tyler Perry may be in for experiencing his first failed box office movie.  That’s if  the Tyler Perry fans who disapprove of Kim Kardashian‘s addition to The Marriage Counselor cast get their way.

In the wake of Kim’s divorce after a $18 Million dollar wedding that lasted less than 3 months, hundreds of fans have hit up the film makers website to voice their concerns and post critical comments about Kim K.  The majority of the commenters are stating that they will be protesting the film and refuse to go see it.

While most are calling Kim K a greedy attention whore the majority are concerned that Tyler Perry has passed up on very hard working actresses like Gabrielle Union who need the money and/or whose careers  could have greatly benefitted from a role in Tyler’s film.

Kardashian is set to portray Ava, a friend and coworker of Judith (played by Jurnee Smollett), whose marriage takes a turn when she gets bored dishing good advice and decides to sleep with a client.

Tyler Perry hears the roars but refuses to back down and fire Kim K.

“She is scheduled to work as planned,” Perry tells TM.

Mr Perry, Although I’ve supported you and your movies since the first Madea I just e-mailed Lionsgate to let them know I’ll no longer see any of theirs or your movies. It was a well thought and sad decision but one I had to make based on you giving Kim Kardashian a role in the “Marriage Counselor”. With so many actors giving blood, sweat and tears to hone their craft your decision to give the role to this person who’s only claim to fame is a p**** tape and fake b*** is truly appalling. Of course I wish you well in life as you had been an inspiration to me for many years, but I’ve accepted that you’ve been drinking the “Hollywood Koolaid” and are now “DRUNK”.

STRUGGLING FAMILIES
I have loved all of the movies that you have done; however, I will have to sit The Marriage Counselor out. I will boycott this movie as I have The Kardashians reality television show. I do not buy their line in Sears either. I think Kim Kardashian is a beautiful woman. I do not care that she has a sex tape. These are not the things that bother me. I do have issue, however, that she manipulates people/situations just so she can make money. When Kim makes money legitimately, that is great, more power to her. Kim, however, is starting a trend that I cannot stomach as a woman myself. In this economy, everyone is struggling, single men and women, and whole families, just struggling to put food on their tables to feed themselves, or themselves and their children. That does not even include normal living expenses, if they even have homes to live in. Poverty is at its highest level ever. You understand what I am getting at. When I see someone who makes millions of dollars do the type of stuff that Kim is doing, it makes me sick to my stomach. Do you know how many struggling families she could help with the money? I am talking about honest hard working people that were laid off, furloughed, or whatever the situation might be. Instead of staging a wedding so she can get paid more money for her upcoming shows and events, and reality ratings, she would be viewed more positively, if she could show a human side and do something productive with her “extra” money. Kim is not a good role model. She portrays sweet and innocent, but she knows exactly what she is doing, and it is wrong. She is beautiful, but very selfish, only in anything for herself. I, will be boycotting this movie and would hope you would reconsider her part in your movie. In listening to friends and family, I will not be the only one either. Thank you for listening.

KIM HATES THE FIRST LADY
I am terribly disappointed that you have cast, and insist on keeping, Kim Kardashian in your movie. She is the antithesis of everything you have every professed to believe in and represent in your work. Her shameless pursuit of fame aside, I am appalled that you, an African American artist, would hire someone who has been so disrespectful to our President and First Lady. Accusing the First Lady of being envious of their Kardashian lifestyle; calling her wardrobe “pretend poor” and “cheap suburban tacky” among other things, is both delusional and offensive.

I completely agree with you, I will never see the film. Can t understand why talented actresses are out there waiting for this unic occasion to work with such a talented director and this talented director prefers the scammer untalented unrespectfull Kim Kardashian. Are you going to be her next husband/lover/white knight ?

MY WIFE TOOK UP FOR YOU WHEN SPIKE LEE DISSED YOU

I’d hate to be you right now. I’ve read some of the comments and it seems a lot of your female fans are not too happy about your decision to keep Kim Kardashian in your movie. In the past, I’ve enjoyed a date night or two with one of your movies on the big screen or in the dvd player. I never really thought about it, I was just amused with your sense of humor and movies’ content. I thought, here is someone who is listening to their inner voice. With that said, let me tell you about another voice. While I am preparing this post, I am sitting next to a woman who never paused to sing praises about you and your movies. When Spike Lee criticized your work, she was upset to say the least. I think her words were, “Who is he?, He hasn’t done anything in years, he must be jealous.” Now, when it was announced that Ms. Kardashian was going to be in your new movie, she can’t stop complaining about it. She says it is a bad decision. That there is so many other real actresses out there that need work, you could and should have made a better decision. She says she doesn’t need the money, she made sixty-five million dollars last year. I, on the other hand, feel differently. I mean she’s pretty, soft spoken, and man there’s no denying, she does have a nice butt. However, I wasn’t coming to see any of your movies without her. You should probably ask, who comes to see my movies? I think the answer is not black people, it’s black women. The black men are only along for the ride. We do enjoy your movies but, we enjoy happy black women more. To wrap this up, If she’s not going to see your movie, me either. Holla!!!

Tyler Perry is making an attempt to broaden his fanbase but it’s looking like it may come at the cost of his core fanbase. It might be time for Tyler to throw those cards in.

This is turning into a game of hold em or fold em. Will Mr. Perry Fold eventually or will Mr. Perry pull a trump card and have a box office smash?   This is going to be a great lesson on just how much or how little power a fan has over someone’s success or failure. We shall soon see….
