While rumors circulate of a pending divorce between the power couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, they continue to be role models while focusing on building wealth.

Included in their wealth building; The Philadelphia 76rs NBA team announced that Will and Jada would be apart of it’s new ownership.

The new ownership will include Will Smith, Jada Smith and billionaire former NBA executive, leveraged buyout specialist Joshua Harris and an Indonesian media magnate.

Below is what Josh Harris had to say about the deal:

The Fresh Prince and his wife are now partial owners of the basketball franchise Philadelphia 76ers. The deal is said to be worth 280 million dollars and the NBA has already approved the sale of the team.

The group takes ownership from Comcast-Spectator, which purchased the team in 1996, the New York Daily News reported.

The new owners paid about 280 million dollars, which Forbes magazine values it at 330 million dollars this year.

The Smiths join rappers Jay-Z, Nelly and Usher as entertainers-turned-part NBA owners.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Smith was rumoured to be involved in a group assembled by Julius Erving to purchase the team since 2006.

Philadelphia is the city that Will Smith grew up in.  I anticipate seeing what other changes Will Smith will make to contribute to the city and give back to the Philadelphia community that raised him.
