I’ve talked to some females who’ve had the misfortune of reading and believing the myth in Steve Harvey’s book about a woman waiting 90 days before they give up the cookies.. My response? It’s your body do what you want, but why let this miscellaneous ninja dictate your decisions?
Mr. Harvey is on his 3rd marriage and his current wife is on her 3rd marriage also, so who are we following for advice on relations and relationships? When did he become such a guru? Not passing judgement but Mr. Harvey says he’s a christian but promotes the 90 day rule, while the bible states to wait until marriage for sexual relations. So unless he thinks he’s P. Diddy and remixed the bible even by his own stated beliefs this makes NO SENSE!
Who gave this ninja the keys to the cookie bag? And what formula did he use to come up with 90 days? If a guy waits 90 days, gets the cookies then dashes on the 91st day is there a point to waiting? And if that same guy waits on you what’s to say he’s not smashing something else in the meantime? Some guys will honestly wait on you *cough.. very few*, some won’t but it should be about how y’all are relating and feeling each other that determines whether you should wait 90 days or 90 seconds..
Either way there’s no guarantee of success or failure every situation is different. And any grown woman that listens to some miscellaneous ninja to determine what she does with her body needs help. I didn’t know Steve Harvey died on the cross and rose on the 3rd day, that wasn’t in my bible. But if you wanna listen to him and wait the 90 days I just hope your cookies ain’t stale and the dude is still around to reach in the bag when you open it up!

Patti Stanger’s view on this matter is more reasonable… Something like no sex till it is exclusive between the two usually doesn’t take 3 months Lol but I always thought a woman would know and I thought we men closes the deal.
Personally I think it’s smart to make a guy wait.. hell in those 90 days he will probably talk himself out of getting it.

The reality is YOU THINK ABOUT SEXIN’ THE OPPOSITE SEX ON SITE-that’s what makes you want to get to “know them” (It’s called attraction). I say NONE OF US are qualified to say what to do since we ALL obviously don’t “sound like” we did what God said do & waited. No one can tell you when the time is right-EXCEPT YOU. Everyone is so focused on waiting or not waiting due to getting to know a person or being exclusive yet NO ONE MENTION WAITING UNTIL STD/HIV/AIDS RESULTS COME BACK NEGATIVE. It’s your life you playing with (that condom can bust-then what). WAIT UNTIL YOU’RE TESTED (you should be motivated to be exclusive then considering all these “killers” lurking around this world).
Sweetie I know that I’m a good woman and very much worth the wait. I am not, never have been, and never will be a jumpoff. I respect myself and the person I’m with, I am not trying to have someone else take care of me, I have my man’s back no matter what he’s going through. Men are funny when they talk about women respecting themselves by not giving it up but how much respect do they show by pursuing it first thing? Men want women who are modern and don’t just want to be at home bare foot and pregnant right? They expect women who take care of themselves and bring home the bacon too. Well they want a modern woman they should expect a modern woman who knows her body and is gonna want to make sure a man can satiate all her needs too.
90 days is not pursuing sex off the bat & however long or short 2 adults choose to wait shouldn’t be determined by Steve Harvey it should b up to the two adults. There’s no guarantees either way, but men typically don’t wanna wait that long for sex…

If the man get`s it too fast there a strong chance that the next guy won`t have to wait to long either,so a woman should respect herself first ,then and only then can she respected by that man, and before she gives herself to a man she should make it a point to know that man`s history outside of what they call a relationship and each others medical history up to date, and stevie harvey can only give his opion he`s famous ,but yet only a man……..BE SAFE YALL!!!!

i don’t care what Steve’s book says. I respect his opinion and all but he can’t really say too much about having SUCCESSFUL relationships having been married more than ONCE and it all can’t be ‘her’ fault either. Excuse me bit I’d rather take advice from someone who has been married to the SAME woman 3 times than from someone what been married to 3 different women, 3 different times. People, PLEASE watch who you take advice from, especially about serious matters such as relationships.

@Cassandra I agree, the only person I take advice from is my Mom she was married to my Dad 54yrs until he passed away Nov 2010. I never witness cheating, affairs or abuse. My Dad treated my Mom like a Queen! I always tell my mom, if I would have started listening at an early age, I would be a lot further in life. To comment on the topic it doesn’t matter when you have sex just keep in mind, how u start things is normally how they end.
I think that if anyone is not able to do without sex for 90 days has more issues than just not having a man. I personally think that the 90 day rule is an excellent idea. At least then if you’re getting to know someone that won’t be around in 3 months you’ll know sooner rather than later.
Is diff for every person and every situation. If there was a formula that proved successfull we would be doing that. There are failed and successfull relationships whether you have sex the first night or wait untill marriage. There are arranged marriages where the people don’t know eachother and have sex basically the first night they meet. They are in the mind frame they are in a commited relationship do the work necessary creating many times a loving strong bond for life. It must work at least a large percentage of the time or this tradition would not have stood the test of time. The way women mess up is giving herself in anyway to a man to try to “win” him over. Women overcompensate, overcompermise, ignore intuition, do things with an expectation, and accept short commings from a man that a man would not readily accept from a woman.

Folks whom are into the words know they are supposed to wait. But do people seriously wait till marriage to have sex anymore? I am not casting stones as I sure did not wait but you can get all holier than thou when you did it yourself.
The bottom line if a woman wants to wait then that is her decision – I am in no way knocking that. But to put a timetable based on what a man or a woman said is kind of like saying forget the word.
For the non-believers – you have to take it in consideration that all men in general has a NEED and so does the women.
Most men would disagree on this rules because personally I do not think a man should be allow to tell a woman how to conduct her business – that is a woman’s job not a man’s job.
In closing intimacy is a special thing when there is no silly parameters involved and there is really a strong bond between the two.
