Last week I posted a video of a little 8 year old English girl Sophia Grace who blew me away by singing “Nicki Minj’s “SuperBass”.. Nicki Minaj stopped by The Ellen Degeneros show before her AMA presentation.. Ellen flew Sophia in to perform Superbass for the audience but ending up surprising her by asking her if she wanted to meet Nicki Minaj”. She screamed in delight when Nicki came out from behind the curtains.
Minaj told Ellen that within five seconds of seeing the video she was calling everyone she knew, and receiving a billion emails about the little girl. “She blew me away,” she said.
The singer asked Sophia to perform the bridge from “Super Bass” and definitely blew everyone way. Minaj told her, “You are incredible. I just want you to stay in school, the both of you. Music is beautiful, but I want you to stay in school. Put your books first and singing second.”
Little Sophie has no idea what “superbass” is about, she just likes the color of the video:
“I just learned the words really quickly,” she explained to Ellen. “And I like the video because it’s got a motorbike made of ice, and pink! Everything is pink, I just love pink!”

Times have changed. Back in the day, singing lyrics like that would get you popped in the mouth…lls. Just being real. I mean yea she can flow to it and all, but i find some of those lyrics disturbing for teenagers..and here goes a 5 yr old singin it. I dunno..just weirds me out. But i feel that way bout most of the music now kids listen to.
@tranel yea that video comes on teen nick and my daughter calls me to turn it everytime it comes on she knows its certain things she can’t watch or listen to I don’t let tv or celebrities raise my child.. the little girl is cute and has vocals though!
That made me a lil teary eyed. When she came out and the girl jumped up in her arms. I agree the lyrics are too strong for her..but hey it’s her parents fault. I wouldn’t dare let my child sing something like that with all those explicitives in it. It was cute..but I’m glad she said stay in school and get good grades. Which has always been her message for her younger fans. Parents just need to monitor what they are doing and sayng around their children so young and filter what they can an can’t listen too or watch.
