New Mexico – A 36-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to battery charges after allegedly attacking his estranged wife for failing to “Like” a status update he posted to Facebook.
Benito Apolinar had posted an update to his Facebook page about the anniversary of his mother’s death. Many of his friends commented and LIKED his status. His wife was not one of them.
Angry that the post had elicited no response from his wife of 15 years – Delores Apolinar, he confronted her.
He showed up at the house drunk, demanding to know why she had not liked his post.
“That’s amazing everyone ‘Likes’ my status but you, you’re my wife. You should be the first one to ‘Like’ my status,” he allegedly told her before punching her in the cheek and pulling her hair.
Benito told police that Dolores hit herself in the face and then clocked him with a cellphone. She said he pulled her hair and punched her in the cheek. Despite the fact that both showed visible (very minor) injuries, Benito was the only one arrested.
He has been charged with battery on a household member and has pleaded not guilty.
So many crimes occur using facebook that as soon as you call facebook a voice prompts you “For law enforcement Press 1″.. Personally I don’t think you should have mates on your facebook page unless… Not even unless.. It’s too much drama.

if facebook were to crash and burn tonight, these types of issues would still be around..just like they were BEFORE facebook..it a social network..site, thats it. If its that serious, get off FB and focus on working on the relatoinship…my sister and her hubby are friends on FB and no issues..this kinda stuff is past ignorant!

Have opened the door to some unscrupulous behaviors. Therefore keeping your mate in the loop avoids more drama than the emotional abuse one could exsperience from not being a part of the activity
So silly… IMO if you don’t have full and complete disclosure, it can and will be a problem… but if there is enough trust and respect between the individuals it will not be a problem at all…
