r-JENNIFER-HUDSON-PRENUP-DAVID-OTUNGA

Jennifer Hudson and her fiance David Otunga  have been engaged since 2008.  That is a very long time for an engagement so inquiring minds are wondering.

Interesting tidbit that I came across on a even more interesting site.

So we reached out to one of Jennifer’s FAMILY MEMBERS. They tell us, “[David] didn’t want to sign a prenup, and so they put the wedding on hold.”

Otunga is the son of a Kenyan father, Moses, and white American mother, Billie. Otunga holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois and a law degree from  Harvard Law School. Before being nicknamed “PUNK” on the reality show I Love New York, David worked for the Sidley Austin LLP law firm in Chicago, IL.  Currently David is a WWE wrestler.

Many were surprised to see a contestant from a raunchy reality show dating an award winning actress. But Jennifer told MTV that she did not think it was fair to judge someone off of a show experience.  Jennifer and Punk traveled in the same circles and were introduced by a mutual friend.

Seven months after meeting singer and actress Jennifer Hudson, David proposed marriage on Hudson’s 27th birthday. On August 10, 2009, Hudson gave birth to the couple’s first child, a boy named David Daniel Otunga, Jr .

J Hud has everything going for her right now. If their is any truth to the prenup story most people seem to be on Jennifer’s side stating that it would be wise for her to get David to sign a prenup.  On one hand if you are truly marrying someone you love and you know they love you too, you are hoping you will spend the rest of your life together.  But as one matures and goes through adult relationships most quickly learn that love is not forever. It can, does and will more than likely come to an end. So is a prenup a way of saying I know I’m in love right now, but just incase this ends, which it more than likely will,  this is how much i’m willing to invest in that time and no more than that?

The funny thing is that when it’s the other way around and it’s a man with all of the money people are quick to say how wrong a man is for asking a woman to sign a prenup.

Jennifer said David had to prove himself and obviously he has proven himself.

So why the prenup? (Kanye Shrug)

I asked women a while ago if they would take care of a man if they could afford to. Most women said yes.  My question today is. If you decide you can afford to take care of a man and choose to do so would you require that he sign a prenup? Why or Why Not?

Men, what exactly are you saying to a woman when you ask her to sign a prenup?

You are saying look i worked HARD for MY money &im not gone let you come snatch it up if things dont work out with us. I totally agree with the prenup rules i mean i dont think its a matter of not trusting your mate as some ppl put it, i think its a matter if securing what is RIGHTFULLY yours BEFORE the marriage began! Just my opinion

Why does that make him a punk though? On the flip side, if a broke-ish woman refuses to sign one, does that make her a gold digger? #doublestandards

Exactly. And if she really wants to protect herself, she can liquidate her assets into legit companies, sell before the divorce is final and then buy back after Everythings said and done. That’s better insurance than having money in the bank. In my opinion anyway

PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES. If a woman present me with a pre nup I don’t have a problem with it. Some ppl think if u have a pre nup u looking for things to mess up u not into the marriage no thats not the case. U into the marriage but u gotta realize that ppl can change like no other. Okay not a pre nup but lets do a contract to where if somehow we called it quits I get 20% of yours and u get 20% of mines.

prenup is the best idea to me cause you constantly got someone looking for a come up of someone elses success. Now the only thing i can see people splitting are the things they accumulated together other than that get the f*** outta here.

I am all for signing a prenup on both side. I have worked hard for my businesses and assets for 20 years and I want to not only protect my assets but my offspring. Believe it or not marriage is also an agreement entered into with the intent of a return of an investment JUST like business. And I like returns on my investments included the giving of my heart. You wouldn’t enter a business deal without covering all your bases would you???

Hahaha… and my hubby knew this before he proposed, so he didn’t present me w a prenup!! Hey, it’s easy to make a marriage work, when you have MUCH at stake! That’s why so many throw in the towel, either they have nothing to lose anyway, or they know that ARSE is protected by a “PRENUP” Kissy, don’t you sign one!!!

Why the name calling? In today’s life marriage is not a lifelong committed event anymore. Maybe it’s because life ends for most between 7-10 years. In actuality, marriage is an agreement and as such this agreement should involve contracts. It Jennifer was the one to delay the process because of the pre-nup then this would not be an issue but because of the reverse act, we have a story. Remember, he is a lawyer too.

There should be a law that if you sign a prenup, you won’t be entitled to anything within the first 10 years of marriage. Then should you decide to divorce after that period, you need to have been separated for at least 5 years before you get a dime.

When I watch Jenifer story on VH1 a while ago, I though they were already married? But I guess not maybe he gave her some reasons he cant be trusted lol Punk…. But I would make him sign it because he wouldnt be getting anything I worked hard for. Oh but doesnt he make good money himself so why does it matter? I think its fair for both of them. You came into the marrige with what you had so I feel if it doesnt workout you leave with what is urs.

I don’t agree with prenups. I would only sign one if there were certain stipulations like if my husband cheats, decides to leave the marriage for no reason, etc the agreement is null and void. I think too many cheaters get off easy with prenups and people that like them aren’t really in the marriage for the long haul.

Strictly on a business note; it makes no sense that someone should be able to get half of what YOU worked hard for just because the marriage didn’t work. Rich men/women are probably use to all kinds of people coming after their money. In a PERFECT world prenups wouldn’t even exist or be needed, but in the world we live in PROTECT YO NECK & YOUR INVESTMENTS.

I say this she has to protect herself and make sure that her son is ok. A wrestler career dnt last long one wrong move and its over. so if he dnt want to sign it makes u wonder is it trully love or all.about the money

Bottonline Jennifer Hudson is a brand name. She has to protect her investments & endorsements. She has to look out for herself, child & future kids. Women give up a lot (career advancements due to pregnacy, etc) & don’t get anything bk when divorce comes. We end up w/ the kids & bills but r not compensated for all of the time missed on r jobs. She needs to protect herself, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t trust him or luv him any less. I hope she doesn’t bk down due to pressure. If a guy can do it why not a woman? Marriage is big business & is a contract under God or a judge. That’s y u have to go through the courts to get married, to make it “legally binding”.

its understandable why he refuses to sign the prenup, coz she is basically telling him “you PROBABLY are a gold digger too” .. that is just disrespect…. and why marry someone if you dont believe in being with that person forever??,, cant argue its not a trust thing coz it is,, you either dont trust your man/woman, or yourself… and if anyone knew he/she has a good partner or partner to be, they would know that If things went wrong in the future there would be a good and known sense of trust and respect to let everyone have whatever is his..

Punk is an attorney that was on New York’s Reality Show who turned around & got with Jennifer Hudson who has lost the most important people in her life besides her beautiful baby.Y should signing a prenup for him bother him, If she loses him & her money too when she lost her mom& sis (her support) sytem. She needs to protect her assets & investments. Anybody remember “Paul MCCartney” who was really in love than made his ex~wife the highest paid divorcee in history. She wasnt married to him long & nearly wiped him out. All of his hard wrk. I don’t see anything wrong with a pre~nup hell if i married Diddy (wishful thinking) i would sign a pre~nup!!!!
