In I’m rich Bish News: An Atlanta Georgia woman suddenly finds her financial troubles over with. After walking into a gas station requesting a Mega Millions ticket the cashier made a $1 mistake of a lifetime which turned Kathy Scruggs into a millionaire.
ATLANTA — Georgia Lottery officials say a store clerk’s mistake led to a woman who has been searching for a job for six months to win $25 million in the Powerball lottery.
The lottery says 44-year-old Kathy Scruggs matched all of the winning numbers in the Sept. 14 multistate Powerball drawing. She said she had requested a Mega Millions ticket but wound up with that and the Powerball ticket and accepted both of them.
Scruggs claimed her prize Monday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
Scruggs who found out that she won that Thursday night after checking her numbers on the internet said she selected the cash option and will receive $15,124,017 before taxes. Kathy Scruggs, who was out of a job after a seasonal job ended last spring, now has big plans. Her biggest plans are to build a home for her mom and grandmom. “They never really had a nice home. That’s my gift to them.”
The lottery winner does not have a car so her gift to herself will be a car. She also plans to start a homeless foundation and a dental foundation. That’s something you don’t usually hear from lottery winners. When asked where she kept her ticket Kathy said she put it in a ziplock bag and placed it into one of her dresser drawers. Reminds me of something my grandma would say.
Cheers to the good life Kathy!!! This is one time when a dingy customer service persons mess up turned out for the best. But you have to ask yourself was it really her mistake or did the Universe make her do it? I’m sure Kathy is going to go back and give the clerk a few thousand.

Well I’m different. Life is harsh. I’m happy for everyone who gets awesomely good news. The same way I would want people to be happy for me when I get rich. Me not being happy for her won’t change my life or hers, nor will be hating or being sad.. It’s better to be happy for people. I can just imagine the stress that she was under before winning.. OMG, I worked for a Non-profit community based organization for 19years, addressing housing needs, i.e., rents, mortgages, senior services, counseling, utility assistance etc., I have been unemployed for 1 1/2 yrs. + and I can’t even get help from community based organizations, nor can I land a job, I wish Kathy could help me, I don’t have two nickles to rub together, at this point I don’t mind being a tax write off…..
