Lil Wayne: The Changing of Hip Hop | Is Hip Hop Being Feminized??

Lil Wayne Jeggings, legging pantsClothing label Tripp NYC confirmed on their Facebook page that the leopard bottoms are actually a women’s style, and available for purchase on Karmaloop.com for $44. After confirmation the jeggings immediatly sold out.

The other day when Jim Jones Tweeted About Lil Wayne’s Jeggings: “Real Men Don’t wear spandex. SMH LOL. So these rappers n RnB singers start gang bangin n claiming blood after th became famous n made millions WTF Wher they do tht at.”

This got me thinking about the state of Hip Hop.  Flavor Flav used to rap “Fight The Power” Kool Moe D rapped about the “Wild WIld West”  LL Cool J rapped about his adidas. Ice Cube rapped “Phuck The Police” along with Easy E rapping “Straight Outta Compton.” 50 Cent Pumped out Rap Lyrics while doing upside down sit ups with his shirt off. If you really think about it the hardest rapper alive right now who embodies hip hop is Eminem.   These other rappers put on some strange behavior…

Although Lil Wayne is a walking contradiction between the dreads, rapping, skateboarding and college degree,  you have to admit that he does some very gay shat..  Lil Wayne who has kissed Baby in the mouth, now speaks very proper and wears lil tight pants and is now beating out Jay Z in album sales.

Lil-Wayne-Kiss-Baby

Gucci Mane went and got an icecream cone tatted on his cheek: BURR!

Gucci Mane Ice Cream Cone Face Tattoo

The Game got a butterfly tattooed on his face:

THe game butterly tattoo

Here is Flo Rida eating at the Candy Factory  at the Paris hotel in Vegas yesterday. Sucking so lovingly on a Lollipop that you have to admit looks very suspect. I mean he is sucking so hard his nostrils are flared up.

ice cream, candy, las vegas

White, female rapper Kreayshawn even dissed Rick Ross and said he was fake.  WTH?

What is going on with hip hop. Are Hip Hop fans simply letting the music speak for them and no longer caring about the individual preferences of the artist, or is hip being blinded and slowly being cultivated into a bunch of sweetie pies.  What does it mean to be a hip hop artist these days?  No clear image will come to mind… It has been watered down.

When we question this behavior are we unfairly questioning the masculinity of these males?  Is anyone other than Jim Jones worried about the state of Hip Hop?

My question is: Have the people spoken? Is this what you want? Is Lil Wayne The Future of Hip Hop?

na basically u got a bunch of fake mf runnin around in the industry. lil wayne claim he a blood, and that he the hardest nigga alive,n dont get me wrong, he can rap, but thats it.first off im from compton, n all this gang bangin shit in the industry is lame. niggas say they bloods, and aint got no respect in the hood. niggas dont fuck wit them where im from. we dont appreciate somebody fakin the funk. thats fake shit. wayne was 12 when cash money first blew up. then u were in art school. then out of nowhere u just became a blood. he used too rock blue flags back in the day. WTF??? wayne follows trends, and honestly doesnt deserve the position hes in. hes only mediocre at best. sad fact that the so called greatest rapper alive stole his flow from big sean. just sayin. but its not just waynes fault that hip hop lost its soul. 99% of the people rappin nowadays are only in it for money. not to prepetuate, or evolve the art, or make a difference or even voice an opinion, just money. they make trash ass music, that no one can relate too. all they talk about now, especially commercial rap is ballin, i got this i got that, or some half witted song about a female. its ok though. time is running extremely short for these rappers. most rappers are followers, and try to stay relevant by copying the best at the time. The hip hop community is tired of the bullshit. its gonna be a revolution of real hip hop, coming real soon. kendrick lamar, big krit, j cole, young smash, and a bunch more of real rappers. people who can actually bring hip hop back.

First of all… NONE of the rappers mentioned in this piece are even in the Genre of Hip Hop..not even Jim Jones…and he got a MF “s-curl” hair style n tht ish aint natural sooooo i KNOW he aint tranna diss Lil Wyane for his fashion choices. And btw, can anyone tell me what albino leopard print pants have to do with someone being fake…yall sound dumb. But anywho Lil Wayne never claimed to be Hip Hop..people assume Rap, Pop, and Hip Hop are the same bcause the people doing each are starting to look he same…. 30 years ago a pop artist and a rap artist looked WAAAYYYYYY different..now you have artists like Souljah Boy(for example) who is a pop artist and lets say Chris Brown who is an R&B artist looking and dressing abt the same as JayZ who is most deff true Hip Hop….and they all look and dress similar to Kanye West who is unarguably a POP artist…. get it together ppl. stop judging. bcuz at the end of the day yall no names arent making nearly as much money as any of these ppl…if they wanna keep in with trends let them..thts not ur business.. im bi && i didnt get upset with female artists like Nicki Minaj who fronted on being a part of the LGBT community just to have a gimmick and sell records, but then pretended they nvr did or they were “misinterpreted” lol smh ..Nicki still kool to me doe…even tho i wish she was gay…just for a day at least.. *hhheeeeyyyy Onika* ;) but anywho…leave these ppl alone and get a life…like they have…btw kreayshawn is thee SHITT!111 yall should deff check her out…She is HIP HOP!!! ^_^ later haters ;) haha

Eminem is hard? Really, dude spent a good portion of his career crying and bitching about Kim and his mother and then he ended up bloated off of pills behind the bitch shit. Like Eric said Wayne thinks he’s Axel Rose, Jim got all the nerve in the world walking around with the tight ass jeans like he was a Harley ryder for real. This rock star ish that some rappers is on won’t work for them because the majority of us will call them gay whether they are or not.

PLEASE EVERYBODY….YOU MUST LEARN THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIP-HOP and RAP MUSIC!!!!! RAP IS A BUNCH OF NONSUBSTANCE BLAZAY BLAH ON OVER A BEAT WITH A CATCHY HOOK….HIP HOP HAS SUBSTANCE, SOUL, A MESSAGE, ITS INNOVATIVE……..ITS LIKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN R&B AND POP…….POP IS RAP VERY COMMERCIAL AND FOR THE MAINSTREAM…..R&B IS HIP-HOP, MUSIC MADE TO FEED THE SOUL FOR GENERATIONS!

@ James JP Peoples, I agree w/u but if you sit & think about it…ALL of the artist you mentioned get over-shadowed by the influx of Random Rap/Dr. Seuss style music & It is a shame/disgrace 2 the artist u mentioned – I said its dead because the REAL lyracist are completely out numbered by a bunch of non-factors. The days of Kool G Rap & Dj Polo, Boogie Down Productions, Guru, Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Common, Mos Def will have 2 be kept alive through those that know about’em & give a ish 2 correct the upcoming generation of “Hip-Hop” lovers.

I definitely agree with this post Kissy. The people who own the industry study the Luciferian Philosophy which views African Americans and other dark skinned people as a subspecies. There are many examples throughout the entertainment industry of them trying to get entertainers to willfully degrade themselves in many different ways which is a requirement of the philosophy. They also started the NAACP in 1909 (Financier Jacob Schiff) to closely monitor and be passively involved in any progress this frowned upon species made. Sounds nuts I know but why would you accept mainstream answers when the mainstream media is owned by them as well. Wake up! Then let it be known.
