Shaunie O’Neal will not have an appearance on BBW L.A. this season. In her place Gloria Govan has been appointed to the position of authority. She calls into Power 105′s The Breakfast Club to discuss how she became the HBIC, the fights on the show, the cast and her wedding being called off.
Why are you and your sister so prevelant in the NBA?
My brother works for the NBA, The warriors. My uncle is a NBA agent. We played hoops. My whole family plays basketball. Basketball is all we know. Being an athlete we are attracted to basketball players because we actually play it. I actually coach girls high school Basketbal.
How did you get so much authority on the show?
We got traded to the lakers and moved to LA. I said I was done with BBW. But They gave me the opporutnity to choose who i want to film with. I reached out to about 20 basketball wives and because of the Miami show most of them nor their husbands wanted them to do the show. A lot were like no thank u and husbands were like if you film BBW i’m going to hurt you.
How did Draya end up on the show?
It’s going to blow your mind how she’s involved and what she’s involved with. (Supposedly it’s NBA Player Javaris Crittenton who just got arrested for murder, but Draya tweeted that’s not true. So who knows… )
Seems as though I’m not the only one that noticed how raggedy the BBW’s of L.A. look. Gloria was asked if any of the ladies actually have money?
Gloria said she doesn’t even mess with Kimsha or talk mess about her because she doesn’t want to get into it with her–no headlocks. But the ladies do what they can. And says it’s a recession so they all try to hold back on spending….O_O ..(Broke Bishes)
On the fighting on the first episode: Gloria said she didn’t want fighting at all for the L.A. cast as she didn’t want to be like the Miami cast. But at the end of the day drama sells. People complain about it but yet if it wasn’t there they wouldn’t watch. You can’t win.
(I love how they go in on her about the cast after Gloria states that she was allowed to PICK THE CAST. They tell her that she did a good job of picking people over 60 years old.)
What happened with the wedding? We are like everyone else, we have our ups and downs. We both mutually decided to cancel the wedding 2 weeks before. Being on Basketball Wives has brought a lot of pressure and scrutiny to our relationship.

THEY ARE SO WACK!! Nothing Glamorous or Spectacular about them. At least Miami looks and appears as if they have money. They look so plane Jane and regular as if they are not even from LA. The only ones that look pretty are the one that they mostly don't like. Gloria even looks tired.

Money doesnt buy class…Rosa Parks use to live in Public Housing and she had more class in her pinky then the BBW have in their entire body…she worked hard for what she had…maybe if the lifestyle they have wasnt just given to them
