In May twin actress Tamera Mowry (the one who is not on The Game) married her soul mate Adam Housley. Tamera chatted with Essence discussing, interracial dating and what it means to be a good wife:
How Did You Know Adam was Mr. Right?
I can be completely myself. I didn’t have to worry about that. I have naturally curly hair, but a lot of my ex boyfriends always liked it straight. It’s a lot of work keeping it straight all the time, whereas Adam liked me as me. I didn’t feel like I had to watch what I say or watch what I do. I always wanted to be with him. I never got tired of him. He made me feel very comfortable.Advice on Interracial Dating
Well, I always find these questions so interesting, because I’m a product of an interracial marriage — and I never really grew up seeing color. I honestly realized that my dad was White when someone told me in middle school. They’re like, “Oh your dad’s White?” I’m like, “Oh, my gosh, he really is White.” I knew what race was, but it didn’t matter to me. Yes we are an interracial couple. The thing is we do still deal with that. People always question that. If anything, it hurts, but we do have more people supporting us then making stupid comments. We kind of just ignore it and focus on the positive. Love is love and a lot of times people might be in the situation they’re in because they put barriers up. Like some people only want to date a model, or an actor, or an athlete. You’re only limiting yourself. Open up to what’s out there because God made us all.How To Be A Good Wife
My mom was such an amazing example. She was a mom, wife, and a career woman. I just want to be there for my husband. I don’t ever want him to think that he’s not getting everything at home — love, attention, encouragement, a meal. I just want him to feel the best he feels at home. I think that’s what a good wife is. Someone who is very attentive to her husband.
At this point in life people should not have to tell you that color does not matter especially in matters of the heart. But I do not think it came as surprise to anyone that Tamera married a white man.
Obviously she is going into this with a good mindstate and wanting to be a good wife. Which has me thinking about women who get married to men who don’t go into it with their heart. What is the point? Everyone would be much happier if they waited on love instead of jumping into a relationship with someone they don’t love. IF you marry someone you don’t love you are only going to mistreat them and that is not fair. You ruin them for the next person and you ruin love for mankind overall. Life is not fair. All is fair in matters of love and war. But when it comes to love it’s only fair if you are in it for the right reasons.
I wish Tamera the best. They make a beautiful couple.
For those who have had their heart broken, remember this: “Love is Not Overrated When You Find The Right Person To Love You Back.”

Black and white looks nice 2..lacky ha i cn only imagn.<3<3<3
her sis married a brotha so that evens things out lol…but in all seriousness, you fall in love with the person you fall in love with so I have no problem with it…The only issues I have with some people who date interracial is they do it just for the SAKE of doing it! they come up with all types of lamest excuses in the world(“too many sistas have bad attitudes…..”brothas dont know how to treat you right”…..”white women are too submissive”……”white men are trick daddies”….blah blah blah”…Do it because you love the person, not because of their race!
Not at all!
i dont c nothing wrong with that my fiance of 8 years is white people r ppl an race shouldn”t define that
No Big Deal.. In A Few Months She’ll Be Askin For A Seperation… -Kssy-29th
Not one bit. Maybe her mama taught what my mama taught.. Be color blind
isnt there father white … or is it there mother…either way they grew up with white men in their family so they are familar with white men. I date everyone because growing up almost all race and ethinicity of men were respresented in my family.

Kissy you might not like this but why do you put so much emphasis on interracial relationships. Its norm nowaday. You get the same response every tym. We are all equal exep those satan lovin politicians and aristocratic pricks. PEACE
i’m not going to say anything negative about tamera because my daughter likes twitches. lol!
Nope, doesn’t surprise me! I am thinking about broadening my options my damn self.
Her father is white so no I’m not surprised, they make a cute couple and so does Tia and her husband…I wish them a long, healthy, beautiful marriage <3
Congratulations Tamera ~ Wish You Nothing But Happiness (But, Black Sneakers For The Men ~ Well OK Then)…
dont understand why in 2011 this would still would bel a topic…I mean really who looks a skin color anymore?? We are all people either black, white, tan ,straight or gay..we love who we love..
@Stephanie Stiles ~ That Would Be A” Perfect World’ But Unfortunately We Ain’t In No Perfect World…
If it works for her but me personally there is nothing any other race has on our black men.
Technically it’s not an interracial marriage because she is interracial in herself so she can go either way. Plus society can’t choose your mate and clearly from the smile on her face, he makes her happy!!! Congrats to both Tia and Tamara wish u ladies all the love in the world.
What the b deal? They love each other that what matter! This 2000s not 1900s! There no same in my game im white God made me that way for reason.
See evertime a Black woman makes it big she gets her a white man on her arm,LOL..Love is color blind and you can’t help who your heart falls for..
Luv it! Go Tamara! She married a person, race should not matter at all.
not at all good for her!
NO, as far as I am concerned she is biracial… so whichever side of the fence she chooses is fine!!
