After being on the run for two weeks Kiara Pollard her Lesbian lover, 33-year-old Dayna Kenney both exotic dancers, has turned herself in.
Pollard was accompanied by her attorney when she surrendered to Allegheny police yesterday (July 13). Her attorney described Pollard as “distraught” over the death of her sons.
This is a tragedy for all involved,” said Ms. Pollard’s attorney, Fred Rabner, who accompanied her to police headquarters and later to the county jail. Mr. Rabner said she has been too distraught to provide him many facts about the case.
Despite the charges, he said, “She is also a mother of two children. No matter what she did or did not do, she lost her babies.”
Her two young children died following a blaze that ripped through their Pittsburgh home last month, police said.
KiDonn Pollard-Ford, 7, was pronounced dead after being found beneath a pile of blankets. 4-year-old KrisDon Pollard-Williams was found hiding under his crib, and was resuscitated, but died at the hospital two days later.
The two boys died of smoke inhalation after they became trapped in their apartment behind a steel door that was deadbolted.
“There was a deadbolt on a steel door,” Assistant County Police Superintendent Jim Morton said. “(Firefighters) tried to open that door so many times, but they weren’t able to do so until the fire company came with a ram, and they had to force that door.”
The 27-year-old is charged with endangering the welfare of children and tampering with a fire apparatus, according to WTAE 4 News in Pittsburgh.
GIrlfriend, Dayna Kenney, is not being charged at this point.
Pollard initially told investigators that she removed the batteries from the fire alarm because it kept going off while she cooked.
One of the saddest stories I have ever seen. Ridiculous in every way. So much stuff going through my head. Like, Why would you bolt the kids inside the house. Why would you be living behind a medal door? If your girlfriend could afford to go on the run with you, why couldn’t she babysit the kids? If you are both strippers why can’t you afford child care?
I guess I don’t need to ask if there was family in town.. Probably not.. Some of the saddest stories arise out of poverty and ignorance…

this is sad but i think she couldn’t afford daycare and the family disowned her bc of her lifestyle……so sad but this isn’t casey anthony so…

I don’t think this had anything to do with not being able to afford daycare. Those two were trifling. The father/s of the kids is too blame too If he’s on the street. Bad enough If the mother of my child is stripping but her new mate too. Hell Nah I have to get mine.
This can’t be blamed on poverty, but pure ignorance and selfishness!! She knew she was wrong, she ran! That leads me to believe she just didn’t care.

Strippers aren’t ‘poor’. They rake in hundreds of dollars on any given night.

There are no acusations, she indeed was a stripper. My cousin and many more family memebers lived not too far from her could’ve watched the babies. Because this had happened so frequently she felt comfortable leaving them by their selves. No family deserves this but to be given very little answers and to expect us to be ok is crazy. My cousin kidonne didn’t deserve this nor did his brother. This by far was the hardest thing to do. Bury my 7 year old cousin.

I cudnt do my kids like that i dnt care how much money i make. They need2 serve life nprison until death. But look@ the casey anthony trial, they mite walk. The worlds comin2 an end.
