So I went to the movies to see X-Men First Class today. It’s apparent that we as black people are supposed to feel like the inferior race. White people get to be the sexy super heroes and the blacks…. we just get to be lucky to be in the movie. I remember when I was little, the black man was the first and only super hero to die in the movie. I’m a grown woman now and the movies still go just like that. The black man had to be the first to go in the movie. 
There were two super sexy ladies in the movie. One black and one white. Of course the black girl had to be super light almost white and they had her working at the strip club. She was also the first to switch to the bad side. 
Why does the black girl have to be a stripper? Thank goodness they didn’t make her a stereotypical one with a big bootie. May as well had of… But obviously in the movie they made the white lady sexy without objectifying her. She got to make the old man hallucinate that he was actually touching her. But still they could of made her something other than a stripper.
I’m sure someone other than me has to see the subliminal tactics in this movie. Some are going to say they had Will Smith and Halle Berry. Yes, they will give us those two. They always throw us a few bones.
Anyway, before I go off on a rant, I’ll just stop here. Other than upsetting me with cliche things the X-Men First class movie was pretty awesome. I won’t give it a bad review just because of the cliche things. It kept me thoroughly entertained.

There are two movies I can recommend where black people don't die first – "The Poseidon Adventure" (where black people die, but only because they don't listen to Gene Hackman after the ship has rolled over) and "The Towering Inferno" (both OJ Simpson and Felton Perry survive).

In comic she was a very minor character but not light skinned not a stripper (although had abusive father so they made her full on stripper for movie), not attractive either, also never bad guy.
Also Darwin (black guy) wasn't black in the comics and would have lived…so they him black and weaker. While giving the main bad guy more power than he had in comics and he had a lot in the comics…then again he wasnt a non aging nazi in comics too

I didn’t notice until yesterday when one of my FB friends pointed it out. Black people always die first in movies unless we’re the main character and the black girl as a stripper was bogus too. I wonder if she was a stripper in the comic book? I still enjoyed the movie.

Jason, that is ONE movie. And we are talking about WILL SMITH. Will Smith has clout. He is an exception. The one they let in.. As always they will give us ONE.
In this case, the only significant black characters in the Marvel universe and Storm and Black Panther. In general, it’s because the creators are going to create and relate to characters that are similar to them and most comic book writer and movie makers are white.

Sounds like a Hollywood hack movie, make a pay day movie until they make a serious movie. Not the type of movie I would go to see at todays prices, But Now You Have Tickled My Interest. Don’t worry I am still not going to see it, besides you already gave them you money and did not ask for a refund. My question is why did not the actors turn down the parts and complain to their unions, agents, and others instead of allowing Hollywood to perpetuate this image of people.
If you followed any of the marvel comics history there where not to many black x-men that made it to this stage as visual x-men( the comic was born during the black power movement and was a mirror of that time hated because of what you by birth,with stan lee pushed to the background over the years,you get the hollywood version of the x-clans(their where many versions of professor,x experiment) Just us whites can be super period!

Well I haven't seen the movie yet but what about the character Storm that Halle Berry plays in the other movies… In the comic book background Storm is from Africa and is worshiped as a god because of her power. She is a major part of the Xmen. As far a bothers not treating woman right. I am in the D.C. area now for about a week…. I see a lot of brothers with woman who are not black. I am talking about going out and seeing it everywhere. I am not saying anything is wrong with it but what's up with that?

yeah they was supposed to do 2 Hannibal of Carthage movies one with Denzel and the other with Vin Diesel, but people are complaining too much that both are "too dark", which is crazy because the Romans were darker then Vin Diesel so you could imagine the color that the Carthaginians were. who knows when they gonna drop this Movie I think Ving Rhames would be a perfect fit for Hannibal. that would really piss them off.

I read alot of the comments, and I must say good commentary, but you gotta remember superheroes really dont die, thats the wonderful thing about fiction. and why are yall complaining about such a minute call to detail, there are so many "black" characters in the marvel universe its kind of ridiculous, Look at Black Panther he is kind of a Big deal in the marvel universe dont nothing go down with out him knowing about it. Storm his wife. the first captain america was black or should I say the prototype or progenitor of the super soldier program Isiah Bradley, the story goes into the Tuskegee experiment. To really be complaining about this shows a big mental block that some of you have, it goes deeper the movies!

Completely disagree…. This movie does NOT speak in social commentary of the era it presents. Your opinion of X-Men First Class is like Munich or Schindler's List not saying a single solitary insulting word about Nazi's or Germany in general. Shaw in this movie warns all of them collectively with a passing "enslaved" directing only at Darwin. This film is a set in pre-Civil Rights era which makes ANY African-American a SECOND class citizen in a movie called X-Men FIRST CLASS. You do realize they cut Storm's chastizing speech from X3 right? This was truly a FOX film.
For god's sakes, Eric's mum get's smoked way before the black mutant, who by the way, didn't the stereotypical dodgy character, but actually stuck to his guns and tried to beat the bad guys when some of the others were hesitating… The demon fellow also drops a few whities from the sky before the black guy ate his bomb, because as we all know, black people are hungry and that's why he was fed the bomb…
The stripper(Angel) is Zoe Kravitz (Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet’s daughter). She’s light enough that she can, “pass,” as whatever they want her to be. The red guy is German(he’s Nightcrawler’s father. Stupidest thing is that Darwin’s power preclude him from being killed, period. Black characters always die nobly in movies. So what? So do dogs. We’re either the cheerful wise harmless old hoojoo kook(The legend of Bagger Vance, Song of the South, The Matrix) oversexed buffoonish lothario(Mike & Molly, Final Destination 3), or just overly emotional cowards(Eight Legged Freaks, Final Destination 2). Most cases, the character is just made white(Terry Fitzgerald in “Spawn”). Either way, with rare exceptions, Black is still seen as either the primary character trait or a liability in film.
And Eric’s mom died because the movie started in Auschwitz. There was nothing but Jewish people, so there was no distinguishing. In that particular scene, you saw 3 different archetypes of white personalities. Not so with Black characters in mainstream films.
Whatever yeah the kids mother did die first but not nearly as fucked up and dramatic as the brotha did. And oh yeah…when asked whats his power he says….well I blend in to survive….wtf is that smh
they didn't kill him off, darwin's power is reactive evolution. more than likely her converted himself into pure energy. it was never confirmed that he died, that was mystique's assumption.
