I was thinking of lately how I see so many black women saying how no good black men are. I take the Katt Willimas approach on this subject. “It must be something about your p@*@y that keeps attracting aint sh!t niggas”. If that is all you meet then It’s your mindset that attracts those kind.
Perhaps if you were a little sweeter with your feminine essence, a bit more lady like you would attract good men. A guy told me the other night that guys play games with me. He was probably surprised when I told him that I don’t have one single man in my life who plays games with me. Everyone adores me. Why? Because these are the type of men I thought into my life. I wanted good black men. I felt I deserved to meet good black men and I believed that they existed. Therefore the universe made it become.
Good Black Men are hard to find so when you get one please do appreciate him. They have to go out in the world and deal with so much, and still stand tall and be a man. He doesn’t need you nagging him and belittling him when he gets home from a strenuous job. If you don’t usually tell your man he is the bomb, start telling him this month.
THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE GOOD ONES.. THE BAD ONES.. PHUCK EM! And again, yes there are a lot of bad ones. Yes you will meet bad ones regardless. But you must be aware that good black men do exist.. They are just hard as hell to find.. You might have to check the crevices..

I agree with your sentiment that what we put out there we attract. I do think we need to honor and appreciate back men. However, I also think that because so many women put up with crap, it emboldens some to be disrespectful. I believe that many women should take the time out and honor and appreciate ourselves first and then move on to forming healthy relationships with black men.

Lol there r great black men out there. And there r successful black relationships I’m in one now. Ppl should remember it takes two to tango and if one person is lacking then the relationship will fail. If you cut it off at the head of the problems then you can have a wonderful relationship. And I have 4 brothers and they are all wonderful black men

@Vernon- more (sadly) never had a dad around so do not have a good impression of a man in the role of husband/father to start with and it affects what their looking for in a man, though perhaps that is what you meant.
@Vernon, I left the TBOBR page because of the constant negativity and bitterness. Nothing to be gained from all that.
There many very good brothers out there…they just don’t fit into certain unrealistic categories tha t a lot of Black women require. Besides there are many no Good Black women out there that have forgotten HOW to be a good woman.
Daryll I am waiting for my little girl to be born right now. And that is all I been thinking about. I sitting here in the delivery room waiting. I can’t stop thinking about how important we are to our daughters. Its scary but I’m gonna do it.
@kissy- perhaps you can put forth a definition of a good black man- because despite how often you bring this up, no common definition has been put forth.

I agree with someone who said it before, please define your definition of a "Good Black Man" just because he works and comes home at the end of the day doesn't make him a "Good Black Man". It boils down to goals, the way he treats people, does he take care of ALL of his responsibility, what's his stance in life, etc. Just because he isn't cheating doesn't make him a good man. I think everyone is so use to a man cheating or not having a job they think that if he has those two then you've hit the jackpot. So please define for me what a Good Black Man is.

There is a subset of black women who perpetuate the idea that there are no good black men, and I hold them and the spread of this idea responsible for that. If you don’t believe it exists, you will never find it.

I personally use to have that mind set abt 9yrs ago…then I had to sit back and evaluate myself and the men I was associating myself with…so, allowed myself to go outside what of I was “USE” to…and that has worked for me soooo much better and I get approached by those type of men now versus what I use to attract(thuggish)..they wont even come my way, not saying I have a pblm with how they chose to carry themsef, but as far as in a relationship that just doesnt work for me anymore…WOMEN CHANGE YOUR MINDSET CAUSE YOUR WORTH IT!
Or they are so used to bad men, stayed with him after he showed he was not good, got use to it, left, but came back, now she loves his no good ass, now she doesn’t know how to treat a good man, so he leaves her, now she thinks all men are no good. @Korey Harrison, you can’t compare us to anyone. WE are the only persons that were stripped of our culture, our traditions, our language and our arts and had to start from scratch OH and our men where taken out of there home and left the “woman” to be head of household. I don’t know WHY some of us can’t believe this affects us to this day.

I applaud my dad because he is a good black man. sometimes I do feel like they don’t make men like him anymore, but I know they are out there. So I’ll keep setting my standards, and if they can’t get wit it then I suggest they get lost.
