The story of Shamika (Shaminicka) Johnson. A girl growing up in the hood and the many possible outcomes of the life of a girl from the hood.

Shaminicka is dating ADONIS Who sells weight. He decides that he will use Shaminicka as a mule and have her smuggling weed… Things go well for a few years. She is decked in the latest Gucci, always wearing a pair of Louboutins. 3 years later she is caught trying to smuggle weed on the plane and she is sentenced to 15 years in jail. Once in jail ADONIS finds a new chick and makes her his new mule until he himself ends up getting busted and sentenced to 20 years.

Shaminicka meets BOB, a older white man. He loves young black, feisty women. He owns a shoe store. He gives her $5,000 a month allowance, buys her a car and tells her that the only way he will deal with her is if she goes to school. She signs up to get a bachelor minoring in business management. After college she decides to open up her own shoe store called Stiletto High. Her store is so successful that after 3 years she has to move to a bigger building at the District Mall in the suburbs.

Shaminicka meets, COREY, He is nice to her. Buys her small stuff here and there, throws her a few dollars. He likes Shaminicka because she reminds him of his wife who owns her own beauty salon. But she does all the naughty things his wife won’t do. Shaminicka is his side chick for a little while then he moves on.

Shaminicaka meets LESTER who likes to hang out with a bunch of hustlers and pimps. He see’s his pimp friends making money so he tells Shaminicka that she is wasting her time on the nickel and dime bags and doing these bishes hair. He tells her that it’s too risky and she could make way more money hoeing. So he instructs her to put a ad up on craigslist. They make a lil money.. She stays in Baby Phat and always has a new pair of Jordans. 1 year later she gets pregnant by Lester. 2 weeks after the baby drops she goes back to hoeing while LESTER chills at home and takes care of the baby.

Shaminicka, meets BODDY He is a big time hustler. He tells Shaminicka that she can just be his chick and not hustle at all anymore. He takes care of her, keeps her in fly whips and clothes.. Everything is good until the FBI raids their house and BOBBY is convicted of 50 years for distribution . Shaminicka has no skills, loses the suburban house and goes back to what she was doing.

Shaminicka meets CAINE He is a big time hustler. He really digs Shaminicka. He tells her to sign up for beauty school. Shaminicka does, graduates and works in a salon for a year. The next year on her birthday CAINE puts on a blindfold and tells her he has a surprise for her. CAINE has bought Shaminicka her own salon and fully furnished it.. Now she owns her own shop. It runs ok for a year before it gets completely closed due to Shaminicka not having any management skills and doing very little advertising..

Shaminicka meets MICHAEL who works at T-Mobile as a customer service rep. He tells Shaminicka that he really likes her but she has to get a 9-5 if she wants to be with him. So Shaminicka gets a job at T-Mobile with MICHAEL They are together for 5 years. After that Shaminicka gets a promotion to Manager and receives a raise.

Shaminicka dates BRYAN and he gets her a job at his cousins shop after getting her cosmetology license. She works as a beautician for the rest of her life and makes a decent living.

Shamicka meets PAUL who is a bikini photographer who also has a strong background in marketing. He says she has a nice body and has a extremely small waist to azz ratio. He convinces her to take some pics for him. He takes her pics, submits her to a few mags and she become Shaminicka the Body who takes the Urban Modeling World by storm. She is highly sought after for a few years and is even featured in a big screen movie.

Shamanicka meets photographer B who is a nude photographer. He takes some pics of her and makes her a members website. She makes a few hundred dollars a month off of her site before that phases out and she gets a job at Sprint as a customer service rep and does sports show anchor hosting on youtube.

Shaminicka met Lebron, who is a sensational basketball star. He gets drafted to the NBA and he marries Shaminicka and eventually they get divorced and she ends up on a reality show called Basketball Wives.

Shamincaka meets LEONARD and he tells her that she needs to get a license to grow weed. They start a weed farm and make very good profits.

Shaminicka meets another girl through the neighborhood who also hustles a little.  She finds out this other girl is going to beauty college while hustling, so Shaminicka decides to sign up too.. When they both graduate they decide to open up a shop together. The shop runs well and Shaminicka meets STAN who does Marketing for Sprint. He really likes Shaminicka so he decides to help her do some marketing to increase business at the shop. He tells her to expand and bring in 2 nail techs, serve champagne and hoerderves to the customers. With his help the shops clients and profits increase by 50%. Shaminicka and STAN end up getting married a year later. She has twins 2 months later and with the dual income they are able to give their child a good life.

A woman is a reflection of the man that she is with. Men can have a good influence on a woman or a bad influence.

Shamika always had the same potential, but most of the men she dated did not forsee or care about her long term future. Nor did she ever see much potential in herself. Where you are from and where you end up at all depends on the choices you make and the people you choose to have in your life. People can influence your life for the better or the worse.  It’s up to you to choose the right people to be in your circle.

The story is fictional but these endings could be any young woman you know, black or white or any other ethnicity.  Young girls are so caught up in love that they often times don’t realize that there are other factors besides love that weight into a relationship.

Some young ladies truly believe that they are products of their environment and feel hopeless or don’t know how to put themselves on the path to a better life.

If possible, try to give your assistance in getting young women on the right path.  Teach them about the magic of making good decisions and picking the right relationships in friendship, business and romance.  Teach them that it’s not about where you start but where you end.

Which guy would you choose for her, now that you see some of  the possible outcomes?

shaminika obviously doesn't have a clue. She needs to learn to be alone a find out who she really is. Every man she met encouraged her to do something they wanted her to do. I don't think she needs to be with anyone until she knows who shaminika is.

I read this blog and can certainly say that I constantly run into women like this. My problem is that these women never have a mind of their own and can easily be led. This is so not right because I always run away from them because they are never quality material for me.

I read the whole article and like it and stongly agreed with it because I grew up in the hood and can vouch these are truly the outcomes! women need to be mindful of the men they choose to date and stop playing victim! i loved the ending of the article message really hit home!

The last one. It seemed like the other ones were Shamika listening to a man. The last one she listened to her heart and then met the man. You are right Kissy, the wrong man can lead you astray. The right one can lead you to heaven. But if you ain’t got the drive yourself, you’re stuck with whatever a man left you.

Can this girl do something that doesn’t involve a man? Seems to me that every move she made was decided by a man. I understand the underlying message but the overt message us clear. A man defined the woman she was gonna become.

AsK-Kissy.com from AskKissy Facebook Fanpage

Richard she did do something that didn’t involve a man. She opened up a beauty salon. And a GOOD MAN came along and used his business sense to help her business flourish. But humans were put on earth to be with other people. So let’s be clear that having a mate is normal. If one is going to have a mate they should know how to pick a mate. Your mindset is what has a lot of women messed up these days..

It is why too many women run around saying they are independent and don’t need a man for anything. That way of thinking has caused many women to be so independent that they truly feel men are not worth anything.

@ Kissy. I think you misunderstood what u was trying to say. Every paragraph I read there was some man either leading her or supporting her. Now the positive results were. good but her with the pimps and drug dealers is not. My mindset is not whats messing women up. Any woman that gives herself to a pimp or drug dealer was messed up already. Women need good men in their lives and men needin good women. I support a woman and a man building a life together but each has to bring something to the table. I think your assessment of me/my com
